2012/13 has been an eventful and thoroughly enjoyable season so far and although there is still quite a few games to go was wondering who everyone's player of the season would be up to now. Would it be Sone Aluko for his early to mid season brilliance, James Chester for his ever presence and quality defending, Elmohamady or Brady for there constant supply of crosses, maybe Gedo might be your choice/prediction with his instant impact or maybe Quinn or Koren has done it for you. I'm going to have to go for Chester closely followed up by Elmohamady. What about you?
Well, so far, I'd have to do a top 5 (1 = Best, obviously): 1. Quinn 2. McShane 3. Meyler 4. Elmohamady 5. Brady Thank God for Ireland (and Egypt, of course). It is really hard to choose 5, so picking just 1 is ****ing impossible.
So far I'd go with Elmohamady although if Aluko hadn't got injured I'd go with him no doubt. Quinn would be close and Gedo's been fantastic so far.
Elmo is our most influential player, as shown when he went back to Sunderland and we slipped. He has worked tirelessly up and down the right side and his crosses have been brilliant all season. Other players that have been consistently been great performers are Aluko (huge miss), Brady, Quinn, Meyler, Chester and in his short time here Gedo who has made such a difference up top
Upto now: Elmo Quinn Brady Meyler Chester Shane about Aluko's injury or he would have been right up there.
This is tough, the team has performed beyond all my expectations. To think we're second and we've managed that for the most part by playing a midfielder in attack! Anyway, top 3 for me. Meyler, McShane, Elmohamady. Quinn would have made the top 3, but I have felt he dropped off a bit from his exceptionally high standards in recent performances. He's ok though - he gets my bargain of the season award Aluko woud be in there too, but I'm still unsure if any, what fee Newco Rangers are entitled too!?
Rangers aren't entitled to anything as i'm pretty sure it got dropped as his contract at rangers ended, it's all gone quiet there regarding Aluko
I would say: 1st - Elmo, has been massive for us we missed him in January and results proved that. 2nd - Quinn, has no doubt covered more distance than any other player, always get 110% 3rd - Chester, best CB in the league by far. Wes Morgan can **** off!
Elmo, Quinn and Chester have been consistently brilliant all season. Meyler, Gedo, Brady, Aluko and Boyd have all been good but haven't played enough for a POTY award so it has to be the first 3 I mentioned for me. Elmo stands out as the pick of them.
