Billy, Carroll can't play the false No.9 role, or the reverse winger position, or even at 7 1/2, so you've got no chance of seeing him back while you've got Pick an envelope, any envelope, at the helm mate.

That said, I totally agree with you, with regards to him giving any side an option, all I'd say in Rodgers defence, is how could you keep a player like him happy, with him just being used as 'plan b' off the bench every week?

Torres definitely seems to be a confidence player... at Chelsea he has none. No clue how he would do if he moved.

A manager like Rodgers with no balls and full of endless compliments might be what Torres needs now.

I'd take him on loan to see if he bags a few but I wouldn't pay whole English pounds for him.

Carroll can play the false "sprawled on the floor after too many newkie browns" position <ale>

You could keep him happy enough because I dont think he should be played off the bench every week. We've only won ten league games this year. That's 17 games we haven't. Plus the defeats to teams like Zenit, Udinese and Oldham who are all teams who'd have suffered against a physical type attacker. You can never guarantee we'd have won those games with Carroll I'm not going to claim that but he'd have improved our chances of getting more points this year than Borini. That's not my opinion it's just factamundo.

The stupid thing is that he was just starting to find his feet here and had a bit of confidence from the Euros. Bring on the "Mandy is useless and Borini has potential" side-tracking of the thread <whistle>

Mandy was not worth what we paid for him which is why he got so much stick... (I hope) however, he was a distinctly average forward... which is better than Borini, but not good enough for top 4 material...

As a squad player for an upper mid table team... yes he brings an extra dimension. How content he would be on the bench every week while Suarez and Sturridge steal the show, I don't know.

Given choice Andy or Fernandy... I'd take a gamble and see if Fernandy has an magic left in his boots.

we can all skirt round it but we should be honest. LFC knackered him and were lucky RA is an idiot. the guy clearly lost a yard of pace for us and we sold IMO perfectly but only by luck not by design. Had it been by design carroll would not have been the replacement.

you can see in the box and from headers he's still class but the fact is he is not suited to chelsea's style and frnakly hasn't the pace to get in behind.

I'm glad we got the money, i just wish we'd not wasted it.

Bit Harsh on Rodgers there. I actually think he has a lot of testicular fortitude... He got Downing playing by telling him to look for a new club... we don't have any experienced left wingers so to be as blunt to say that takes guts which ever way you look at it. He also has Hendo playing while Suarez & Gerrard are both in fantastic form

Billy! It's Friday night. Time to relax and have a few beers - maybe chill out later on the music thread. So what the **** are you doing writing intelligent posts like that? <laugh>

If he came squeeling out in the media that he shouldn't have left and would be open to a return then I would consider it.

Untill then he will remain an absolute ****. We shouldn't forget how easily he shat on us.

If you ask me he can take his CL winners medal and shove it up his Arse.

Though saying that, Torres is the sort of player that runs on love of the fans, there was none of that at the bridge, and his account is empty in Liverpool <laugh>

Ditto, he should just go back to Atletico, their fans love him and I reckon that is what makes this guy good, adoration. Atletico is about the only place he'll get that love and that's only if their current manager wants him
