Sunderland AFC News And Banter Page: I feel an immense sense of pride every time the team runs out at the Stadium of Light. To see the vast sea of red and white and hear the noise that greets opposition teams is, in my opinion, what makes Sunderland such a special football club. - Ellis Short
Someone should tell him that the noise and passion would increase 10 fold if we were a decent team challenging for silverware and maybe a Euro placing instead of scrapping it out in the lower mid table with teams that have just been promoted.
Well if we are to end these constant relegation battles the main man is going to have to stump up another wad of sweaty cash! At least 50 million. Does that make good business sense. I have always wondered since the sale of Bent and Henderson if Short had put the brakes on spending?
Short is almost as much our saviour as Quinny. I don't think he made bad decisions selling Bent or Henderson. Bent did not want to play for us anymore after having his head turned and we got a fantastic deal for him seeing as he was not playing at his best at that time. Hendo is the same we got a massive amount of money for an average player. The problem has been the re-investment. He let MON spend big on Fletcher and Johnson and Johnson has not lived up to his fee. I think the money will keep coming. If MON identifies a target he wants who will come to us I think the money will be there. Our problem is attracting quality players.
Vast sea of red & white? Obviously doesn't go to cup games or games where tickets are given away to kids free then eh!!!! Interestin to see in yesterdays papers that sunderland are still a betting chance for relegation! Looks s good bet to me, always one team drops like a stone from feb onwards!!!
