apart from sheff utd all the clubs we have played in feb have been on the slide. things are no different with donny. lost their last 3 games and lost at bury!

sadly their away record looks strong w10 d4 L2. i suspect it will be L3 after tomorrow. the mighty shrews are improving and i go for a narrow win, as we begin to head towards the playoffs. i have a dream.!

    From the BBC:
Shrewsbury joint top scorer Jon Taylor is doubtful after aggravating a groin problem in the 2-1 win over Stevenage.

Shrewsbury have lost just twice in their last 14 league games - but are still only eight points clear of the League One danger zone
Jermaine Grandison hoped to make the squad after recovering from a hip injury, but has been laid low by the same bug affecting Tom Bradshaw.

Doncaster Rovers have so far failed to win in five games in February.

Brian Flynn's promotion-chasing side make a first trip to the Greenhous Meadow on the back of three straight draws to follow successive defeats

This looks a very tough one to me and I would be happy with a draw - I say 1-1 (Porter the scorer) in front of a frozen crowd of 5100.

Looks like we all fancy it being tight.....

So let's try 2-1 to the super Shrews in front of a disappointing 4,747 crowd who go away happy after McGinn and Rodgers, yes Rodgers, score.

Appeared to be a ridiculous sending off with the referee saying the tackle was out of control. If that is the case when are they going to consider sending off players for overhead kicks. Sometimes, when these are deemed to be dangerous, they do not receive even a booking.

It has happened several times this season - we equalise or go ahead by one and the opposition put pressure on to us by attacking the goal area and when we get the chance to clear it up field the players don't move quickly enough out of the goal area to stop their forward players from attacking again <grrr>!!

Shame it didn't sit at one all at the close as it was more enjoyable a game to have watched than Bury and Sheffield. We seemed to be getting more control when we were down to ten men as well.

The top of the table is much tighter, we forget to look at that as we're near the bottom.

........but we still lose the match!

This is my constant gripe about the quality of officials, did the ref get help from nearest linesman (who was really well placed)? Did he hell! So we get bad punishment, the ref gets nothing!

    :emoticon-0101-sadsm

At higher levels the game is more difficult to monitor.....but down here in the depths we deserve better!

In the future, I'm sure video technology will be brought in. The video ref will be able to overrule decisions to allow goals etc... And all major decisions - red cards, penalties, will involve mandatory consultation of the video ref, all in conjunction with GLT (not a type of sandwich!) and a challenge system available to captains similar to that in tennis. However, this would never possibly happen with the clueless buffoons currently in charge of the English game, who insist upon making life 10 times worse for referees by refusing to allow them elementary help, or to accept that referees will occasionally make mistakes, and get rid of that bloody ridiculous rule where players can't be retrospectively punished if the referee books the player. The introduction of GLT is a baby step in the right direction, but it is of course only coming in the premiership and, naturally, must be funded by the clubs.

......and on EVERYONE'S admission GLT will only resolve a few decisions a season. The spread of guesses is 1-5 a season! Sure I would like to benefit from one of the five but there must be things that need more attention and most of Lenny's ideas go down just the right path.
