I know Snodgrass and Bassong are deservedly going to get the bulk of the votes so I am going to vote for Wes, (it was between him and turner). I think Wes was sensational in the 10 game run and that is what has given us this safer position. I also think Bassong gets a lot of deserved praise where as turner has been a rock in some games body on the line making key interceptions and very consistent since his early season dip. Really think Turner is top draw, surprised sunderland let him go. So just so he gets recognition I will vote wes!

Personally I go for Snod. Firstly because he puts in a cracking shift every game and does the unfashionable stuff like tacking back, is passionate about winning matches for NCFC, he is a gifted player who has shown good form and I think that he is improving week on week. I feel that he found the step up to the PL tricky at first but has clearly worked really hard to improve his all-round game and I reckon he could be a target from others come the summer. Happily we have a few coandidates again this year - Bassong/Turner and Holt who gives so much to the team.

Snodgrass, Bassong and Johnson are the ONLY players who have played to a consistently high standard all season, but for me it has to be Bassong.

I'd disagree with Bassong slightly, he has had a few moments he has slipped up. Turner has been playing to the same standard, sometimes better, as Bassong with exception to the first few games,

True, but Bassong has countered that to a large extent with 3 crucial goals. What a difference to last year's assembly, de Laet, Ayala, Whitbred, Ward and - when pressed, Russ Martin. Reasons to be cheerful - and optimistic <ok>

Very good point! We're they 'crucial' though? Wouldn't disagree that his goals may help to edge him ahead of Turner though.

Earlier in the season Tettey was playing brilliantly, and his passing was a level above Johnson's, which is where I think the criticism stems from. But, when off-form Tettey was giving the ball away far too cheaply, whilst Johnson still managed to keep things simple. He's much better at retaining possession than he gets credit for.

I see that Dave has closed my first attempt at making a poll. Makes me feel like I've done something wrong! :(

Gonna be harder to call this year for sure. Can't go against most of what has been written here so far - a word of huge praise for Turner though - he was villified earlier on (by me included) for his performances, especially against Liverpool, but he has been the most improved player in our squad this year and forms a mighty solid unit with Seb - they were like Titans on Saturday. Well done to him for proving the doubters (me included) wrong.

    My top three:

    1. Bassong (so consistent, a huge influence and an inspirational figure)
    2. Snoddy (our most creative and skillful player - that includes Hoolers by the way and has been consistently good this season)
    3. Bradders (our engine room and one who we build the team around)

Slipped up? I can't recall a single moment when Bassong had made a serious error, or at least one that lead to us conceding a goal. Michael Turner HAS been our best player over our lean patch but he endured a very torrid start to his career here and that is exactly what I am on about; he hasn't consistently been performing. The problem with these polls is there will always be a bias towards more recent achievements and IMO also to more attacking players.

apparently Carlisle want him so he can go home. they have offered to pay him £40,000 p.w.. or maybe he is our lone striker and Carlisle have no chance.

lol, it's just that whenever I see the word "loan" it conjures up hideous images of darker days in the club's recent history, of David Mooney, OJ Koroma, Chris Killen...need I go on <yikes>

If you're going to use that sort of language you can go on to the end of Cromer Pier and keep bloody walking!

Much as I'd love to, Dave, no, I really would, the pier is closed for three days for filming of sections of the new Alan Partidge extravaganza. But if there's anything else I can do to atone rather than walk off Koroma pier.......<laugh>

edit: I can do a rendition of Roberta Flack's 'Killen me softly' if you'd prefer :emoticon-0105-wink:

Its a shame for Ruddy as he was probably the best until injury.

Completely agree with this statement, but it's Johnson who gets my vote, he's been a rock in the middle this season, brings real bite to the team.
