I think it's pretty obvious really. They were always running on to passes and knock-downs, but we keep passing to static players. West Brom had so much more movement all the time, while we were only stringing passes together in short bursts. Overall, I though we were reasonable, but we just looked a lot less fluid than them.

Defo need more quality in MF in the summer.

I posted ages ago about the basics Sid mate.
Passing and moving isn't exactly brain surgery.
It aggravates me to hell when any of our players make a pass and then just stand and watch, as if to say I have done my bit now you do yours. If they keep moving the defence have to put someone on them.
When they stand still the defenders all pile onto the ball carrier.
I can't remember who it was today, but N'Diaye won the ball, beat a player laid off the ball and then made a hell of a run forward which would have left him in the open.
He turned back arms out looking for the return ball which never came as the ball was passed backward!

We lost because we aren't as good as we think we are lads. We have been overtaken by West Brom etc and, are just hanging onto our PL status much like Southampton and Coventry of years gone by.
Defence was static and any team with a tiny bit of pace rips us a new one. Midfield was Bracewell like ie passing backwards and sidewards most of the time. Strikers were again looking up to the heavens and hoping a decent pass would come their way. When that pass did materialise both strikers were too much alike to cause any great problems for a half decent West Brom defence. Our best player yesterday was Sess much better movement and a good goal. We are in trouble but, should get out of it hopefully fingers crossed etc. ;)

We only turned up for one half again, them getting the penalty decision and us not finally the most exciting prospect in EPL
