Not had one of these for a few days... Mancini confirms interest in Suarez (Cavani and Falcoa too) http://m.skysports.com/article/football//8517949
Hard to tell from such a cryptic piece, but it looks more like hacks putting words into his mouth again- who'd have thought it? Anyway, Suarez had a couple of relatively quiet games so the interest wanes, then he pots a couple and it all starts all over again. I'm beyond tired with it now, tbh.
I thought that he had been asked about these player too. Just know how this board loves a Suarez to go debate
Mancini won't be able to afford any of them once he's managing some second rate Italian shower He should have shown some interest in strikers last summer and he'd have had a good chance of not ****ing up this seasons title challenge.
City have resorted to really defensive football this season. Last season Tevez was away for a long time and they only had Aguero, balotelli and Dzeko. Now they have Aguero, Teves and Dzeko. Teves is better than Balotelli and Dzeko is well among the goals.
I think City's problem is more that Aguero and Silva just don't seem to give a **** this season when compared to last. Aguero's contribution in particularly has been poor, he's City's best striker by a long way on paper, but he's contributed the same about as Torres, Hernandez and Berbatov this season. I think after they went out of Europe many of their players just gave up on this season. They've gone like Chelsea's team - now they've won the league they don't care about it any more. Oh, and just to get the thread back on topic http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...n-Bayern-Munich-summer.html?ito=feeds-newsxml
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/...ssia-dortmund-lewandowski-transfer?CMP=twt_gu And http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21491399 Highly unlikely that they'd sign another striker on top of that, especially considering they have Pizarro, Gomez & Mandzukic already and that Guardiola has a preference for only 1 striker formations (or even formations with 0 strikers). Just typical Dailymail bollocks.
agree - you can add nasri to the "don't give a **** brigade" they used to say about winning the title - the first one is the hardest and the second one is even harder - city just don't seem to want it enough how up for it was suarez on thursday night - if city had half his passion and commitment they would do a lot better - ps he's not for sale at any price hello all - just popping in to say hello
is this not the only "suarez to go thread", shock horror - we should be flattered but we cannot sell this genius (and his work rate is incredible) ta ra for now folks
In all likelihood it is DM bollocks, but not sure about the whole 1 striker formation - if anything Guardiola prefers three striker / winger / all round attacker kind of players in his forward line. His best forward lines were probably Henry/Messi/Eto'o, Pedro/Messi/Villa, Alexis/Messi/Pedro - he could definitely fit Suarez into one of those roles. That's not to say he will, but Suarez would definitely be a Guardiola esque signing imo. Completely agree - I posted on the Utd board a few weeks ago that the last manager to retain the English title before SAF and Mourinho was Paisley. And before that it was Stan Cullis and Matt Busby! In fact, over the period since Paisley left Liverpool, outside SAF and Mourinho the league champions have only come close to defending their title on three occasions - Everton in 86, Liverpool in 89 and Arsenal in 99. It's almost embarrassing how many teams fail to get up for the second attempt (Pfnar pfnar).
The difference there for me is they were all players that have the technical ability, dribbling ability and pace to play wide. At Bayern that isn't really the case, he is restricted with what he can do with the likes of Gomez, Mandzukic, Pizarro and Lewandowski (if they do end up signing him) as they don't have the right attributes to play wide and be interchangeable in the same way Barcelona's front three were/are. That means you'd have to stick Suarez out wide, and he would still be good there, but not half as good or as dangerous as he would be upfront in my opinion!
Depends if Guardiola actually sticks with Pizarro and Gomez - neither of them have played important roles this season. Could well see Bayern next season operating with Lewandowski / Mandzukic in the CF role with two from Suarez, Muller and Ribery supporting in wide roles, provided Guardiola gets his way of course. Martinez, Schweinsteiger and Kroos as the midfield three would be pretty much an ideal adaptation of Guardiola's approach to the German league - passing, technique and pace, but also the steel and ability to take a more direct approach he'd probably need in the German league. Also arguably what he was aiming for when he brought Ibra to Barca - it didn't work out that time but that doesn't mean he won't try it again with Lewandowski.
theres a few points here. 1. bayern are NOT a cash splashing club. they are run well and will only add a couple of players to their squad for guardiola. 2. Its highly unlikely that germany is all that attractive to the Hispanic types. 3. Linking city in a scatter gun approach to EVERY player out there makes the original article this article is about look stupid.
