I see the club is trying to clamp dpwn on persisitent standing by both hame and away fans!!! http://www.canaries.co.uk/news/arti...nt-22feb13-671932.aspx?pageView=full#anchored Let's hope they don't get too heavy handed and treat both sets of fans the same.
I know they have a legal obligation to comply, but wouldn't they be better off, for the time being, concentrating on surviving in this league for another season? Plus I'm sure Carrow Road is no worse than numerous other grounds up and down the country.
Absolutely hilarious! heres a few points I'd like to make 1) Carrow Road has nowhere near the levels of standing fans as other stadiums around the country. This initiative looks completely weird for that reason (I wonder if an equivelent body is lobbying for the kop at liverpool to sit down? I suspect not) 2) I was wondering what idiot organisation was behind this latest push for "everyone to sit down please" Turns out its the "Norfolk Safety Advisery Group. I've done a search for them online to no avail, so we basically have yet another bullshit public sector leech of an organisation that spends the weekdays setting off fire extinguishers in flourescent waistcoats perpetuating the health and safety culture that has been choking the life out of every activity possible for the last few decades. You know, twats like these guys. please log in to view this image I have a message for you guys. I don't know why you suddenly have a hard on for us but would you kindly **** off and put some safety cones up or whatever the **** it is you do. Waste taxpayers money or whatever. 3) The reference to Hillsborough in the article I find almost offensive. I know it happened. I know 96 people died. I know thats why we have all seater stadiums because of the resulting leveson inquiry but are you trying to suggest that this event could happen on Saturday? Really? 4) I realise the club has an obligation to enforce sitting down, and they do this through the day-glow idiots that patrol the ground but this does not excuse the fact that they are pretty ****ing useless and have proved their lack willing to take action during real events many times over the years. Whether this is a training issue or whatever I don't know but it needs to be addressed because, as I've said, if there was a real emergency I wouldn't trust them to make the tea for the firemen let alone actually do anything. 5) Absolutely NO WAY will this be equally rolled out across the home and away fans. The away fans will be allowed to stand the whole match with nothing said to them at all and the home fans will be threatened with ejection. 6) This is extremely bad timing considering we need to make as much of an atmosphere as possible to get as many points as we can, particularly in upcoming home games. This will end badly.
There's very little standing in the Jarrold lads - just at the start when we sing "On the Ball City" and then when we get anywhere near a scoring chance which means we've been quite sedentary recently. Surely they've got better things to do with their time (and money) ...........
With the style of football that Hughton's team is playing at the moment surely doesn't give you the need to stand up!
Hillsborough was caused by too many people being allowed into the area not by people just standing If you sit in the Barclay expect people to stand, go away expect people to stand its football get over it Go in the 7th level at Toon and stand as me and the boys did now that's scary!
There's more kneeling in prayer at the moment Warkie than standing but things will come good egain real soon ....
If there's a seat then I want to sit for the 90 minutes or my legs will get sore. I can understand people jumping up at goal-scoring chances but what annoys me is people jumping up for fouls and then staying up, blocking my view. Obviously there are very few people who do this but it does annoy me. Nagging at fans when it isn't really an issue isn't the best thing to do as well! People want to stand up, so they should allow certain areas where people can do this.
Some excellent points there Beef. As CC says, not everyone is able to stand up for the entire game, so IMO, there should be some compromise/discretion used.
i have a solution. Let's have a separate area for those who wish to stand. Perhaps we could take out the seats. Maybe we could put in some staggered barriers and plenty of exits. We could even charge less for these areas. We could call it something like...terracing. Those who want to sit could continue to do so.
As we are no supposed to stand can everyone please get there on time not sneak off 5 mins before half time and be 5 mins late getting back or leave 5 mins before the end Thanks for helping me not break the law !
