Faye and McShane are both out, but both are expected to resume training late next week. Long term absentees Fryatt, Dudgeon and Aluko are obviously also out. No other issues and Boyd goes straight into the squad.
Same as Tuesday night for me, but with Boyd on the bench. Although I may have a look at giving Quinn a little rest.
Why would you rest Quinn? I think he really came to life in the 2nd half against Blackburn. Stockdale Chester Hobbs Bruce Elmo Meyler Evans Quinn Brady Gedo Koren I can potentially see Koren being dropped as I don't think he gives us enough up front (although he isnt any worse than Prossie\Simmo who are meant to be strikers!) and Bruce clearly doesn't fancy him in a midfield three.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Boyd start against Bolton due to his excellent performance against Millwall during the week. I can't see Quinn being dropped so it will be either Koren or Evans making way depending on how attacking Bruce chooses to play against Bolton.
No brainer. Same team as tuesday night with Boyd on the bench for Olifinjana. Boyd can take over from Koren when he starts to flag. Boyd given squad number 37. 3+7 = 10 his shirt number with the Posh.
i don't know if Gedo can handle 3 games in 7 days remember with no Egyptian Premier League in the last year he barely played twice in 1 week! i hope he can do well but i am afraid he may look tired tomorrow so it will be better imo to use him in the second half instead of starting the match
Bruce said he is playing on adrenaline at the minute and whilst he expects him to hit the wall, he will be played.
At risk of getting a flaming I'd just like to say that I'm not too unhappy that Macca's out for a while. The three centrebacks against Blackburn looked totally in control with not a sign of a wobble and, as much as I like the lad, I always worry that Macca will have a rush of blood, and I wonder whether his team mates have similar concerns.
I don't get all this about gedo's fitness, I can see how not playing much in a year can take the edge off your game, but it's not like he's been injured a year and sat on the couch bloating himself on pizza and burgers and now has to get back in shape, he's been training at ahly and playing every 2 weeks or so and I bet the fitness training had been maxed over there to keep them well in shape and as fit as possible. I appreciate playing 4 times in 14 days is a big ask but I'm sure he's fairly capable of 60/70 minutes and can't understand why people would think starting him on the bench is a good idea.
I would like to see: Stockdale Elmo Chester Hobbs Bruce Brady Meyler Koren Fathi Gedo Boyd Subs: Jakupovic, Rosenior, Cairney, Quinn, Simpson, Proschwitz, Wilson - Oli is a waste of a bench spot, you might as well give it to a youngster for the experience. Despite this, I think we'll see the same team, but I really think Quinn could benefit from a rest and perhaps Fathi could be brought in a more defensive role to allow Meyler and Koren more license to drive forwards.
Quinny's a ginger Duracell. Never stops. Would be a massive loss, can't see it happening. I can't be arsed to check but I imagine he's played every league game and never been subbed even.
That's a good line up. Fathi needs a start. Quinn can come in for Koren in the second half. Olofinjana is a total waste of space and I cant see him playing again. Gedo and Boyd could rip Bolton apart. I'd have Evans instead of Wilson though
I was looking the other day, he's started all 30 league games since he arrived and been subbed twice. Also I think Proschwitz is the only ever present in the squad (been involved on the bench or starting in every game)
