Oh and Assaidi needs games in the League.

There are countless times when his pace and trickery could of helped us unlock a tough defence.

One thing that is really annoying me with Rodgers.

I don't see an end product from him - all he seems to be is a winger with a few tricks. He needs to learn to release the ball and cross when its on, rather than running into traffic. He does have potential, not good enough yet though imo.

The performance reply impressed me tonight, real shame we went out after such a great effort.

The substitution totally bemused me, we were on top and that took the wind out of our sails.

I didn't mean he didn't give 100% but that his best efforts are just not good enough . He does try and has for a few games now its just that he is not top drawer and he most certainly wasn't brilliant.
Assaidi does have something about him but has been out of the picture for so long I was amazed he came on. But he did ok . No he didn't match downings effort but he still did some good things in the short time he was on.
The real **** decision was bringing shelvey on. He needs to go.

I was watching the game too and thought it was a weird thing to do just after you'd gone 3-1! It allowed Zenit to gain some semblance of self-control in the time to make those substitutions. As for Shelvey, wtf is he doing at a magnificent club like Liverpool?? Horrendous tackle on Hulk who did make a meal out of it by rolling 10 metres.

Spot on. I was doing exactly the same.

It was crazy timing. We were flying when the goal went in and loads of time left. If nothing else had we got a fourth you'd want those subs to waste a bit of time. It was totally amateurish not to let it play out for another 5 or 10 mins.

I could perhaps see Assaidi as a useful sub at that moment. We had alot of joy down the flanks and with his pace and trickery, it helped us out.

I saw no point in bringing on Shelvey - straight into the middle also. We lost control fast. The pressure wasn't as tight, we left gaps through the middle and the linkup play around their 18 suffered. Really poor decision.

Due to confidence, I would have Assaidi on before Sterling for the rest of the season ( my opinion) as Sterling has just lost it, completely. Him and Shelvey shouldn't touch the field and think Suso needs another look in.

I couldn't believe that you had a goal kick in the 93rd minute and decided to play it short around the back four for 20 seconds before passing it back to Reina for a rushed clearance.

Harsh on Assaidi - I thought he did well considering he's hardly played. Some nice touches and likes to take on his man.

Downing had a decent game but I reiterate - he has improved over the past few months but only up to an 'average' level. He's simply not good enough. Maybe a decent option as a back up player but I hope Rodgers considers bringing in more attackers in the summer. We scored 3 goals of which 2 were free kicks - suggests to me that we're still a little light up front.

  12. You get the feeling that we could win the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and Champions League all in one season for two years running and people on here would still complain about X, Y or Z <doh>

I usually blame Glen Johnson or Carragher when we lose but last night I was proud of the effort that everyone put in, its easy to sit here the morning after and say what we should have done but when the players put in that much effort its hard to be critical of them.

Tbh there is a serious plague of doom mongers on our board. Does my head in constantly defending LFC from attacks presented as facts when they are mere conjecture.

It's getting to the point that I am thinking of jacking not606 in - cant be arsed!
