    Humm.

Was a great effort to be fair.

Still missing something off the bench.

    Shelvey is not that.

I'll accept "I can't fault the players effort" tonight.

****ing waste, 1 minute left... let's spend 40 seconds passing it between defenders.

    Well played lads.

Over the two legs we had enough chances to win it and apart from a silly mistake in Carragher's last ever European game we would have gone through.

Plenty of positives to take though and everyone one can hold their heads up high.

Great performance. Really was. Think the lack of squad depth cost us a bit. Needed to make changes but Assaidi and Shelvey didn't really have it tonight.

I said as soon as Shelvey came on, "why the ****?". I was proven correct.

He is NOT the person to bring on when you need goals. Rash in the tackle, fouls too much, ****s up chances by smashing it near top rather than hitting it low and across the keeper.

Great effort by the lads, unfortunate to be knocked out. Ref bottled the penalty for handball and pullback on Assaidi should have been a yellow (second?).

I'm disappointed as much as anyone, but I'm happy too. If we had lost without putting up a fight I would have been disappointed but Zenit are a very good side and we fought to the last. The players put their all in and we were perhaps unlucky to lose overall but these things happen.

Just because I don't agree with you does not mean that I am a wum. I see all my reputation points have disappeared, how suspicious and cowardly.

Bad luck Liverpool, good game tonight :).

that ball of russian sheite were there for the taking by any half decent attacks.

We were below average tonight in skill and technique and above average in energy and work rate

Deserve to go out, we could have put Hulk and that bunch to the sword tonight but instead we did the usual, take out Suarez and it probably would have been a loss.

    Angry.

Anyone who thinks that was a good performance is needing stronger meds

Special mention for Neto for Zenit tonight, I thought he was superb all night. At 24, perhaps we should go in for him?

Just makes you wonder what if Suarez had taken one of those chances over in Russia?

Still, time to concentrate on the league now with Spurs & Chelsea having Europe and possible Arsenal (who knows eh?) Could give us the extra rest time between games to try push on for a European place.
