I'm on about thinking ahead, a bit of prevention, had their been a police presence in the area anyway, must have been on hand somewhere if it was quickly attended as you say, the fans and the pub might still be one piece is all I'm getting at. If a RW gathering is due in a City holding a European football tie, would their not be an alarm bell in your head...no don't answer that...already got it!
Its becoming a bit of theme for us in Europe, if we get past Lyon its likely we'll have to go back to Italy in the next round! not Rome admittedly, but Milan Ultras will be aware of all this. Sorry for doom and gloom, but it has to be in our thinking from now on imo
Was disturbing to read that yet again, our fans are targeted. Hope all are now safe and those injured are recovering well. Something that annoyed me on Twitter last night though was there was one guy who's tweets were being Retweeted onto my timeline (I won't name him), seemed to be Tweeting live as to what was happening, now for me personally, if people are getting injured infront of me, the last thing I'd be doing is Tweeting about the incident, I'd be doing the best I can to ensure those injured are put in a safe place and looked after AND doing my best to try and prevent anyone else getting hurt. The fact this guy felt the need to give a running commentary just really annoyed me.
3 in hospital with "quite serious injuries" and 20 or so being treated for "minor cuts". This behaviour is just disgusting.
2nd page of the thread and we've had no idiots on saying it must be the Spurs fans' fault as its the 2nd time its happened. I am pleasantly surprised.
I don't think anyone would generalize so stupidly like that, when we all know that it's the bastard foreigners that are to blame! (I can say this because my country isn't involved)
I don't understand how French police can't add together the factors of a right wing protest in the city, us being a Jewish club AND that we were attacked only minutes before. Surely an increased police presence at the bar in question should have been called for? A thoroughly avoidable incident at the hands of the French police. Shocking form.
The guy seems a complete ****. I don't mind banter but trying to give it the big'un or make stupid assumptions over incidents in which people are actually hurt is just a ****ing disgrace. He's a keyboard warrior pure and simple, probably got/ gets bullied at school.
The was an English journalist on 5 Live last night who was a Spurs fan and he lived above the pub.Apparently the scum who attacked the Spurs fans were giving nazi salutes before entering the pub.The journalist seemed to think the attack was more to do with anti-semitism than football related. There should be no hiding place for nazi scum anywhere in the world and i hope the French police come down hard on the perpertrators of this wicked cowardly attack. This scum did not even have the guts to show their places just like the maggots who follow the EDL in this country.
Cheers for the info, I too hope the police do something about it. No doubt it'll just be a slap on the wrist for the culprits though.
There is no way PISKIE would defend the actions of nazi scum or make a thread or post mocking such a cowardly act.I think you are wrong to suggest otherwise.
I know Piskie's politics and i can guarantee you that he would ever defend racist scum even though i do agree with you that he is a bit of a tart
I agree totally. If COYG had a thread blaming us it's gone now. Blaming our fans would be classless, even by his standards.
