If it's based on playing ability, Chelsea would be nowhere up there. It would be Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man City and Bayern Munich.

thats what you think but i believe chelsea have the key players still to there best defensive record ever. They just stopped getting pay rises.

I f******* hate chelsea mind but there is no reason there team should not be winning everything. Thats why managers keep getting sacked

Tash, are you going for your favourite/best teams to watch or the 4 teams you think would beat all the rest of the teams?

My favourite teams to watch don't include Barcelona but I'm inclined to put them in the top 4 teams in the world as it's the law, apparently.

The way I look at it, Barcelona, Bayern and Real Madrid are the 3 teams I'd want to avoid in any Champions League draw, so they make up my top 3, then I'd go for United. Some people would go for City, despite them handing more points out than Bruno Tonioli, each to their own I guess.

The ones that would win games, and right now, I'd say Bayern would beat anyone. If Barca can't score against Bayern, struggle to score against Celtic, then they're gonna have a hard time scoring against a side who's conceded 8 goals in all competitions this year.

    Bayern are the best.

I wouldn't argue with this, Barca haven't played Bayern though I assume you mean Milan.

Milan are like Liverpool, good in Europe historically and find a way of getting the job done, I think Barcelona's problem is no plan B because plan A is so effective and they spend so much time perfecting plan A that they don't have time for a plan B. I'd still expect Barcelona to cheat their way through the next game against Milan though.

I don't think Bayern would dominate Barcelona, I think Barca would still have the lions share of possession but I reckon Bayern have enough about them to punish Barcelona when they are in possession. Having said that, as a United fan, we don't have an answer for the Barcelona way so I'd fancy our chances against Bayern more than I would against Barcelona.

I'd take Juventus any day in the next round if we qualified, especially if we have Scholes fit to do battle with Pirlo. I'd love to see Scholesy show the old dog some new tricks. ;)

Milan? I'd disagree on that. They are a shadow on their former self and don't have much recognisable talent. As soon as the last of their experienced players are gone then they're ****ed.

If it was looking at playing squad they maybe don't match up. But in terms of knowledge within the club how to win games, and working as a team, they are still bang up there. There is more to being a great football team than having great players and playing nice football. They still have plenty of talent in their ranks in Abate, Balotelli, Mexes, Flamini, Montolivo, M'Baye Niang, El Shaawary. It says something than even as they go through a transitional period in terms of turnover of players they can upset the widely regarded best team with a brilliant tactical display. The knowledge inside that club will stand them in good stead and ensure they remain among the best teams.

This is why I mentioned them, they are not there yet but they have some cracking talent. Gotze in particular. But Reus, Hummel, Subotic, Lewandowski etc they have a lot of talent. I've watched PSG a fair bit too and they have mountains of talent. At times there is real intelligence to their play. They just show at times they are a team bought like Citeh, Chelsea etc.

Its the advantage Dortmund, Bayern, Man U, Milan, Juve, Barca, Real have over these teams. They have a tradition and knowledge inside the club which has been built not bought.

I've always liked Bayern. Lahm and Schweinsteiger would always be signings of mine in my younger football manager playing days. You also can't beat the fact that Schweinsteiger's name translates as Pig-Climber. Bastian Pig-Climber. Now that is a great surname.
