    It was the first time ever that the club was knocked-out of both domestic cup competitions by lower league teams:

    Arsenal lost in the Football League Cup to League Two (fourth flight) Bradford City and they lost in the FA Cup to Championship (second flight) Blackburn Rovers.

    Why do we only half translate Bayern Munich to English? We happily translate Munchen to Munich, but can't be arsed translating Bayern to Bavaria.

    Why some towns and not others?

    Why do we call Munchen, Munich and Koln, Cologne, but we keep Berlin and the preposterously named city of Mönchengladbach, which is crying out for a translation to something simpler like Munch.
