Leicester's defeat combined with our win means that even if everybody wins their games in hand we're still in 2nd place and 3 points clear of that dotted line. 1 of Leicester's 2 games in hand is against Cardiff away as well which is far from a banker for them. I think the other is against Blackburn (AKCJ is that right?). Not that we're worried about it, but we're also 11 points clear of the dotted line at the bottom of the playoffs (if Brighton win their game in hand). So, from now until the end of the season we don't even need to be better than the rest to go up in the autos, we can be 2 points worse than even our closest rivals over the final 13 games and still be ok. It's been a very good night for us.
Tonight couldn't have been worse for us. One of the worst nights (results wise) we've had all season. Looks like we'll be playing at Wembley then boys.
I am not andy king's tiny gonads, but I can confirm Leicester's other game in hand is at home to Blackburn.
Yeah I've just seen, only just got onto the boards about 5 mins ago, saw this thread first then the other one
I never bet against City, so no I didn't. Anyone take up my tip? You can buy us a pint next season if you did Long way to go yet boys. Didn't get carried away in Jan and I won't start to now. 45 points for us to play for, that's enough to avoid relegation.
It's still very tight Ricardo, Watford & Palace going well too.. Boro have gone, Leicester falling away a bit.. anybody else fantasising about the last game of the season.. imagine Cardiff's lead down to 2 points coming to ours... tasty...
We finally seem to be doing what we normally don't: we're taking our chances, and capitalising when our rivals lose. The loans have been inspired. Feels better than last time.
i'm hoping the last game is us two already promoted, or us needing a draw and Cardiff having a few drinks with us the night before
It is tight, but if we win every game we're guaranteed a top 2 spot, none of the chasing pack can say the same. Before tonight Leicester had the goal difference advantage if they won every game. (they still have gd, but obviously we took the equal points away from them) Really though? If they were clear of us you wouldn't fancy Cardiff to just come and play 10 men behind the ball and just be punting it to the corners for the 70 minutes they didn't waste over every single stoppage? Would be more tasty if we were a point clear of them, with someone else another point behind. 3 of us going for the title, us knowing if we lost it'd likely be 3rd place, and Cardiff knowing if they didn't win it would be the same for them.
are you a sado-masochist ricardo? I'll gladly take a nothing to play for final game with us at least promoted.
It's nice to feel so in control at the end of a game instead of worrying about conceding a late goal Yeah it's in our hands which is the best place to be and points on the board is the only statistic that matters DJ Campbell looked like a sunday league footballer player who turned up at the wrong game , Steve Bruce never intended to sign him did he ?
I am just so glad hat we have Steve Bruce as manager. His whole approach is so refreshing, Whatever the end result, he has earned my fullest respect. The players just seem to be part of his extended family and that is going to be the difference.
