Reports going round now that the owners of Leeds United (GFH Capital), have contacted Nigel Adkins in the last couple of hours.

Weren't you a leading proponent of the 'if he doesn't play or Southampton, I don't give a ****' school? :emoticon-0100-smile

Nigel's not outspoken but he likes to speak and he loves to be spoken to... [have I done that one before..?] :)

Who would want to manage a club that could again be taken over?

If he gets appointed as Leeds manager I may start watching the FL show again!

He should take that, you don't get many opportunities to manage a club like Leeds United.

Don't know if i'd like him there, their owners are a little to private. Also with the rumours that they are thinking of selling some of the club already.

The most-likely group to take over appears to be Adam Pearson's consortium; that should be good for Nigel, as Pearson knows the Football League well enough that he likely wouldn't start hunting for a bigger-name manager if he buys out GFH.

In a way, I'd love it for Nigel to be the one who put Leeds back in the top-flight. I think I'd get defensive of him if they jumped on him though. :(

As much as I like Pochettino, I think for me Adkins gave me the most memorable years as a supporter to date.

Therefore I will always be supportive of him!

I haven't stopped. I look out for Hammond, Bridge, now Chaplow, Harding, Sharp, etc... I even stay on for League Two, to watch Reeves. Then there's the chance to catch a glimpse of old Beatts, Wotton, etc... That's another problem. Once you run out of loanees there's the endless supply of ex-Saints as well. :)

We will never know how far Adkins would have taken us, but by leaving as he did on a high, his star will never be dulled in our eyes. An eternal hero. Thanks Nigel.

Former Southampton manager Nigel Adkins is in line to take over at Leicester should under-fire boss Nigel Pearson lose his job at the Foxes. (Daily Mirror)

Leicester, that'd be a good job.

I remember seeing on their forum, one of the fans saying, "if Nigel Adkins becomes available I'd get rid of Pearson ASAP"
