HARRY TARGETS 20 POINT RETURN twitter facebook email print PUBLISHED 07:43 17th February 2013 by @OfficialQPR Redknapp believes 37 points will give Râs a chance ⦠If someone offered me 37 points now Iâd probably take my chance ..." Harry Redknapp HARRY REDKNAPP stayed up until the early hours of the morning to watch Saturdayâs opponents Manchester United play Real Madrid on Wednesday night â but admits he didnât learn anything he didnât already know about the Champions-elect! Redknapp was in Dubai for the Râs warm weather training camp when Sir Alex Fergusonâs men locked horns with Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League, as Cristiano Ronaldoâs headed goal cancelled out Danny Welbeckâs opener in a pulsating encounter at the Bernabeu. Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk ahead of the visit of the Red Devils to W12 this weekend, he said: âI stayed up to watch the game in the early hours of the morning and it was well worth it. âIt was a fantastic game and United could probably have nicked it at the end with the two chances that fell to (Robin) Van Persie. âTheyâre a top, top team â world class. âThey could field two world class teams, couldnât they? âYou look at some of the names that didnât feature on Wednesday, the likes of Vidic and Smalling and many more, and itâs just unbelievable.â He added: âItâs a cracking game for us though. Welcoming United to Loftus Road is something Iâm sure the fans are excited about. âWe were on a nice little run prior to the Swansea defeat, so weâre looking forward to it. âWe know itâs going to be a tough game, but itâs a great challenge for us.â Redknapp has targeted a 20-point return from the Râs final 12 fixtures of the campaign, but admits itâs âanyoneâs guessâ as to what the all-important survival figure might be come May 19th. âI think we need 20 points from our final 12 games to give ourselves a chance to be honest,â he said. âIf someone offered me 37 points now Iâd probably take my chance and think that would be enough.â
i was just going to post the same thing along with the fixtures. 0 - Queens Park Rangers v Manchester United 3 - Southampton v Queens Park Rangers 3 - Queens Park Rangers v Sunderland 1 (3) - Aston Villa v Queens Park Rangers 0 - Fulham P - P Queens Park Rangers 3 - Queens Park Rangers v Wigan Athletic 0 - Everton v Queens Park Rangers 1 (3)- Queens Park Rangers v Stoke City 3 - Reading v Queens Park Rangers 0 - Queens Park Rangers v Arsenal 1 - (3)Queens Park Rangers v Newcastle United 0 - Liverpool v Queens Park Rangers I can only see 15 points, we will need to pull off a couple of shocks as well as win the winable games. The ones in brackets are the ones that will be needed but I dont see us getting.
Its TF keeping Hughes that did it in, imaging if we needed 13 points from that if we got 7 more from villa, Saints and Reading. I dont think theres anyone on here who thinks we cant get 13 points there.
If our team was showing signs of outplaying sides I'd have a little more faith but the bottom line is we are a poor team and are where we deserve to be. I look at that list and can't see more than three wins at best, I really fear we will suffer in the games against our main rivals as they all seem to have goals in them which we don't...
Flyer; This is how I see it V Man Utd (h) 0 V Southampton (a) 0 V Sunderland (h) 1 V Aston Villa (a) 1 V Fulham (a) 1 V Wigan (h) 3 V Everton (a) 1 V Stoke (h) 3 V Reading (a) 1 V Arsenal (h) 1 V Newcastle (h) 1 V Liverpool (a) 0 A total of 13 points, definitely not enough to survive. The only hope we have is if Bobby can start playing more and Remy is on fire, makes you wonder what would have been if we actually had Bobby fit all season, a fit AJ and a bothered Cisse.
When I did the predictor I had us staying up on 35 points. I do think it will be quite a low points total to survive this season, but in reality, getting to at least 35 is looking highly unlikely with our present form.
I agree with this. I think the top of the premier league has taken more points than usual, leaving less for the rest, so it could be 35/37 which keeps you up. I could be wrong though, haven't sat down and worked it all out. I think 20 further points looks overly optimistic as well, but it's a good target to set the players and it's not totally out of the question. Being super-optimistic about your chances, I think it'll pan out like this; V Man Utd (h) 0 V Southampton (a) 1 V Sunderland (h) 3 V Aston Villa (a) 3 V Fulham (a) 0 V Wigan (h) 3 V Everton (a) 0 V Stoke (h) 3 V Reading (a) 3 V Arsenal (h) 0 V Newcastle (h) 1 V Liverpool (a) 0 17 points. Don't discount shocks, there's always shocks in near the end of the season
I have been predicting a low total for survival all season. The way I see it is this: 37 - survival more or less guaranteed 95% chance. 36 points- still better than evens say 70%.35 points - I think this is the crucial tipping point and I would not be at all surprised if Survival Sunday is a fight for 35 by more than one team.So my guess is this 17th place -35 points 18th place 35 points and inferior GD.
20 points, not a chance. If we win half of our remaining games and lose the other half, that will leave us on 35 and that might be enough. Winning 6 out of 12 though would be miraculous.
There are sure to be some draws, with QPR's record with 'arry I would expect a lot.Just a matter of whether they come at the expense of wins or pulled out of the fire from expected losses. That probably is the key to it.But like most posters I feel twenty points is a bridge too far.
0 - Queens Park Rangers v Manchester United 3 - Southampton v Queens Park Rangers 3 - Queens Park Rangers v Sunderland 3 - Aston Villa v Queens Park Rangers 3 - Fulham P - P Queens Park Rangers 3 - Queens Park Rangers v Wigan Athletic 0 - Everton v Queens Park Rangers 3- Queens Park Rangers v Stoke City 3 - Reading v Queens Park Rangers 1 - Queens Park Rangers v Arsenal 1 - Queens Park Rangers v Newcastle United 1 - Liverpool v Queens Park Rangers 24 points piece of piss now where was that favourite drink thread
I'd been hoping this run would get us out of trouble but the problem we have never been able able to to beat the teams around us and while we have improved they have also improved, we would need them in free fall to stand a chance. For example : Southampton - in the form they are in at the moment I can't see us getting anything away to them, free flowing fast with some blood and guts they look good. Reading - do or die blood and guts never give up attitude, that won't be easy. Love to believe but just can't I'm afraid.
A win on Saturday or a good performance and a draw and anything will seem possible again. Never ever give up. The worse that can happen is another limp wristed home display. C'mon Harry, we want to see our side go for it. Blood and guts. Not another sit back and let United do what they want. We had Hughes to do that. Come On You Rssss!
not a cats hell of a chance. It was only 10 games ago that fans were saying " we need points" and 2/3rds through the season and they are still saying it. you are relying on others as well as yourselves now and the others do actually win sometimes and for that reason you were more or less down 10 games ago...
