a) He was never really in the England picture, he was selected once or twice but never realistically established anywhere near the first XI, nor should he have been, he's not at that standard by a long chalk. b) Because they paid way, way over the odds, and they know this. Jordan was never worth more than £6-8million, they ****ed up, they won't expect someone to be so dumb as to give them their money back. Simple.
We complain about lack of goals from our midfield. Henderson won't improve that. Fans are always complaining about Jack Colback passing sideways. Henderson does this constantly. Henderson doesn't tackle, just runs alongside the opponent. Whatever the shortcomings of our present midfield that is not one of them. He's a poor header of the ball. How does this represent improvement?
I Agree. However this doesn't prove that paying £6-8 million to re-sign Henderson is the best way of allocating our limited budget. If we are looking at signing a 9th placed Liverpool offload for £6-8 million, I can only hope that MON has an additional £30-40 million to spend this summer. I may be wrong and spending £6-8 million on Henderson may be excellent value. I sincerely doubt it.
Doubt Hendo will be sold next window. As others have said he is improving all the time, it's quite clearly about his confidence playing alongside big name players when he first went there. He looked **** scared to make a mistake and was constantly looking for Gerrard to give him the ball. Recently he has been more forthright in his play and has grew his balls back. As for England I would have Hendo in front of those planks Barry and Carrick FFS! Downing just NO! He is ****e and got ****er at the dippers.
he is playing in the shadow of Gerard and gets the lickings of a dog off the media, if you wish to be fashionable and join the criticisms that is your perogative, however I would have him back in a heartbeat for around £10 million.
