Manchester United striker Michael Owen has criticised the pricing of Champions League final tickets. The former Newcastle United, Liverpool and Real Madrid frontman was surprised to learn how much seats would cost for United's Wembley meeting with Barcelona on Saturday, May 28. The highest-priced tickets cost ã300, and the second tier of seats were ã225 each. The cheapest tickets made available were priced at ã80, available only to supporters of the two clubs. Players from each team are entitled to buy tickets, and Owen wrote on Twitter yesterday: "Filling out the forms so I can buy my allocation of 16 tickets for the Champions League Final. Just seen the price of them. ã225 each. Joke." The Football Supporters Federation also condemned the cost of tickets when details emerged in February, and UEFA president Michel Platini has since apologised and said there could be a lower price band introduced for future European finals
