Is there any difference between these RL mergers and franchise stuff and how the MK Dons came about? I've honestly never liked rugby, Union or League, and never considered myself aligned with either one of them, christ Im not even totally sure if its just league played in the City or if we have a Union team too. None of my family have ever been into the rugby either, Tigers fans through and through, and only Tigers fans.

I was wondering what the City attendances would be like if Hull never had either RL clubs?

Obviously everyone's experience is different, but I can only think of about 3 people who I know well that are from/live in Hull that when asked wouldn't say red or black and white.

Taking all of this week out of the equation I've never understood the rugby fans from Hull who don't support City.

I am black and white. I love rugby league just like I love football. I don't understand how some fc fans support TWS. Then again unless your a rovers fan I don't get peoples hatred for fc on here.

Is that true? So what about his quotes last week "That I have literally given my life to Hull FC"?

i work with his grandson in law ( is that a real thing, ha ) and tho he would never admit it publicly hes said until last couple of years rovers have always treated him better, seats in the chairmans lounge, pre and after match meal , proper red carpet treatment..
despite having a lounge at the kc, he until recently always had to buy a ticket to sit in the stand and couldnt always even get in his lounge after the game if they had other things going on..<laugh>

Amongst other reasons, FC fans being given free tickets to City as a gesture and then turning up to support the opposition (Brentford) and try to provoke City fans, only to set off like Lynford Christie when some City fans tried to explain why they looked like arseholes.

We've got two pretty decent Union teams in Hull too, Hull RUFC (play at YPI) and Ionians at Brantingham, both in National 2 North, the fourth tier of Union.

I dislike both sets of fat, egg-chasing ******s.

I just can't seperate the clubs from the septic council and local rag. The presumed moral superiority over City fans. They ****ing disgust me.

When you say 'they', I assume you mean the tunnelled visioned, overly biased, soccer hating dickheads who support FC?

As opposed to a tunnelled vision, overly biased, rugby hating dickhead who supports City

I love City & FC so would never ridicule either, unfortunately both clubs have their idiots and WUMs, but as I've said in an earlier thread, there are thousands of both FC and Rovers fans who support City, so don't tar all with the same brush

I always say Rovers but i don't really have any interest in the sport. I just can't stand most FC fans i've come across. I used to go out with a girl whose whole family were FC mad. They looked down on City despite the fact we were in the Premier league at the time. Somehow they believed that they were a bigger club in a better sport despite the fact we double their attendance.

Then last night i had a row on Twitter with a couple of mates who were blaming the Allams for all of the mess in the papers. I calmly pointed out the facts and they didn't have a leg to stand on. They won't admit they're wrong though, The Allams have to be conspiring against them in their eyes.

Born north hull .. Age 57... Never been to a rugby league game .. I don't even know were rovers play nowadays..

Did not know who Mr whitely was neither did my mum or my sister or my brother who still live in Hull. Got called a C -- t by an FC fan for saying I never knew who whiteley was.. ;)

Never been red or black but after the **** thrown at the Allams I hope FC lose and The red team win.

    Come on City

As far as Rugby League is concerned it is, and always will be, Hull FC for me.

As some other posters have alluded to they do have some ****ish fans, but then so do all clubs, even City, so I find it impossible to hold the club responsible for what some idiots do or say.

I think it comes down to a combination of location (area grew up in Hull) and family influence.

I grew up on Beverley Road, I never heard anyone ever utter anything about East V West Hull until I started working with some East Hullers who must have had a chip on their shoulder or something. They never shut up about it.

I imagine if I hailed from Holderness Road or Hessle Road, I might have seen more rugby stuff going on a got hooked in one way or the other.

In the absence of that then, I had no family members who had any particular interest in RL. My granddad was a big City fan, he took me to my first games in '93, and that's why I follow the football.

Also, I've never particularly enjoyed any rugby match I've ever watched. My brother likes the egg chasing though, and identifies himself as a Hull FC fan as well as a Hull City fan.

    Just what I think.

True about the family stuff my dad was a city fan and started taking me with him to games when I was a nipper , my dad use to go with his dad..rugby was never mentioned not because of any hate... Just was a footy Family ...

Shame is my daughter supports Newcastle Utd but then she lives in Gateshead and her mum is from Gateshead ..

I think Rugby players just become well known to Rugby fans and not to anyone else..

FC fans seem to think it's an insult or we are lying ****s if we say we don't know there stars..

I think the same can be said for championship footballers, if you follow the game you know who they are but your average premier league fan or non-football fan wouldn't have a clue who our first team players were if they bumped into them in the street.

It's not an insult it's just how it is, some FC fans make the mistake of thinking everyone cares about their game as much as they do, but there's city fans that do exactly the same on here!

I doubt if All rugby fans know half of Citys players now never mind from 20 years ago... I don't take that as an insult , why would they know .

Stupid how some went off it if someone said they didn't know who mr Whiteley was ..

Got told that EVERYONE from hull knew him as he was so Famous

    Good win today ...

My 2 nieces are becoming Hull City Mad since I started taking them this season..

    ;)

Bet they have not heard of Waggy .

Must give them some of my City Books
