Tremmel has played in all the League Cup games so far (I think) so do you think he should get the nod for the final, or Vorm. I have to admit Trem did a great job whilst Vorm was injured and possibly a half each would be the right thing to do. Then there is the Chico injury, if he is still injured I think Bartley should start the game, he has pace and we might need that against a very physical Bradford forward line up but Gary Monk has the experience. Either way, Captain Monk has to be on at the end of the game and lift the Cup, should we be lucky enough to win against a very determined Bradford side, in recognition of his contributions to the Swans. a true stalwart.
Last one out of Swansea next Sunday turn the lights out!

i assumed it was a given that Tremmel would be selected, he's played all the cup games and would be a kick in the teeth for him if Vorm is chosen for the final. more interesting is who is selected for the Liverpool game tmw, will ML give Tremmel a bit of game time before the final or stick with Vorm who is just about hanging on to the Number 1 slot.
more tricky is the centre back pairing, Can't see Chico making it back so i'd play Bartley tmw against the puddle and see how he goes with Williams. if Bartley comes through ok then i'd pick Bartley for the final with a Monk cameo at the end, if Bartley has a difficult time maybe Monk's experience of partnering Williams will be more important. But to be honest either centre-back pairing really should be able to cope with what Bradford throw at us.

1-0 with 5 to go and monk comes on, 30 seconds to go bradford attacking, tremmel beaten, monks heads off the line, thats a fairytale ending

Aye. Tremmel is deserving of it - and the slightly better keeper for me at the moment. Vorm looked poor for the QPR goal last week.

Musty : surely the fairytale ending is Bradford winning it ?

It would be an absolute travesty if it's not Tremmel for the final. He's certainly earned it, so it's a no brainer for me

Tremmel - not even a question. In reality, Vorm (as great as he is) should be looking over his shoulder for the league games too.

I read somewhere saying that Bartley should play the Liverpool game and Monk the final. Bartley is a lot taller than Monk - he's about 6ft 3 or 4 - which would be useful against a direct team.

But Monk's experience of the lower leagues might see him take the place - no false over confidence. Unless they have a lot of pace upfront, his experience might see him as the best option.

Has to be Tremmel and I'm wondering if he shouldn't play against Pool as well to hone his game. Apart from deserving it, physically he would be the best choice because Bradford will give our keeper a thorough buffeting.

For the same reason I've edged towards Bartley for the final instead of Monk. It's a close call because, as has been said, Monk does have more experience of playing teams at that level (as does Bartley for a time at Sheffield Utd). But all the experience in the world isn't going to help Monk when the ball is lumped into a stronger player who is a good four inches taller than him.

If anything, we want experienced players to stop the crosses coming in to our box in the first place. Our full backs will have to keep forcing their players wide and give them no room on the touchlines. Our midfield will also have to press hard giving their players no time to set themselves for a cross.

We all know where the threat will come from and, at some time during the game, they will get crosses in when we will need a big guy hustling and challenging Hansen for these high balls, so even when he does win them, it won't be clean ball. It only needs one moment of lack of focus for them to score and park a pretty formidable bus for the rest of the game.

Ideally, we will settle into our passing game early doors and run them ragged until their legs give out and they start making mistakes. But they WILL battle, run all game and challenge all over the pitch. We have to match that. All known logic and form dictates that we should win this but three Premier League teams have said the same thing and came an almighty cropper. Let's hope that our lads will be focused enough to prevent us becoming their fourth PL scalp.

It would be very unfair, and even a travesty, were Vorm to be chosen ahead of Tremmel for the Final.
He has earned the right to play and I'm sure Mr. Laudrup will select him, injury permitting,of course.
