Good to note that liverpool fans are still ambitious, still hoping to get to Swansea standards, still aiming for 7th

    Hmm .. I'm not sure.

Brendan should be given another season at least, then we can go from there. Would be foolish to get rid of him this early!

Its not BRs fault, when PowerPoint 2014 comes out he will have the tools to successfully communicate his message to the team. PP 2010 just doesn't have the functionality it seems

I agree, every new manager that comes in deserves at least 2 seasons to mold his team. Maybe with time he will get it right, however I feel he will be on borrowed time if he doesn't better last seasons league position.

BR was definitely not the one i had thought we'd go for in the begining, my guess was AVB or Martinez and honestly i'd rate both of them a better manager. Maybe BR needs a bit more time, but if we had not made any improvement by the end of the season it would only be a mistake to continue with him. I'm still hoping for a run of unbeaten games and hopefully he could pull it off.

But regarding the question on this thread, I think Laudrup could be a top choice, but a tough one nevertheless. Obviously it would be clear to him that we are much ambitious side than Swansea, but sacking BR in just a year wouldn't give him a good picture about the club, neither would the idea of replacing him for the second time. Plus he's only just started his career, he might want some continuity before jumping ship.
Apart from the great job he's done at Swansea so far, he's also had a wonderful playing career. Playing at Barca,Madrid, Juventus and one of the finest play-makers of the game is all good for me.

Brendan needs time. At least until the end of next season and we'll look where we are at that time and decide based upon that.

That is correct. He got booted out of Reading because he wasn't given time. At Swansea Robert and Sousa had done the donkeywork for him.

Personally I am all for giving Rodgers one more season but if he does go I really hope we do not move for Roberto Martinez. I accept that we are not the force we were a few years ago but we should surely be aiming higher than a manager who's biggest acheivment in football is avoiding relegation. I would take Rafa back before I would even consider Martinez

<peacedove>A week is a long time in football politics.I t has been a bad week for Liverpool. It is
very easy to blame international friendly, but unfortunately Liverpool players
must share some blames sorry to say. Fifa fairplay is coming
soon when football clubs are to be run like on going business concern.
For Liverpool to keep their star players they have to be finishing in top four.
With all the millions invested in clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City not paying off, managers are under immence pressure. Even without the owners sacking them they are capable of resigning.
While clubs with moderate investments are doing fairly well, West Brom, Everton,Swansea must be given recognation.
    Is Brenden Rogers safe?.
What of Rafa Benitez, though he wants the job permanent?.
We cannot forget Roberto Mancini, I think the special one have eye on this one.I mean Jose Mauribho.
Are all the premiership managers going to be there till the end of the season?.<monster>:emoticon-0110-tongu

You could say that Jackett had done the donkeywork for Martinez...

The fact is, the reason most managers succeed at Swansea is because they have probably the best chairman in Europe.

It makes a managers job so much easier when he knows he can concentrate on the work on the training ground and that the person above him will fight tooth and nail to get him the players he wants and that he will have his 100% backing all of the time and be given time to implement his own style of play and philosophy without any pressure for immediate results.

In comparison nobody at Liverpool knows what they are doing. Our chairman is very inexperienced at running anything (let alone a club of Liverpool's size), our owners are never present never around the club and have no previous experience in the sport, our manager is inexperienced at the highest level (1 prem season under his belt) and so are our players. It would be hard for anyone to manage us, even someone like Mourinho, so it is no surprise that we have been having up and down seasons under FSG so far with their lack of leadership and experience.

No one will go until the summer now, too close to the business end of the season.

Think Rafa is a gonner. He was never likely to keep the job beyond the contract, only way he gets to stay is if he wins something, Europa League or FA cup and gets top 4 as well (top 4 is perhaps the most important for a Chelsea manager). Still not very likely to stay on with the way the Chavs not supporting him.

Mancini is a maybe, not winning anything will put huge pressure on him (FA cup wont cut it for them this year) and like mentioned if Maureen is available that could be enough to oust him.

Rogers is likely to be given at least another year. He sold the owners a long term plan, don't think they can afford to cut and run after just one year. However next season could be a real make or break for him.

Always likely to be a few casualties come the end of the season, if QPR fail then 'arry could be a costly bet with his splash the cash tactics.

what bugs me is that after getting beat last night he comes out with

"what is most disappointing is that, apart from the two goals, it was an almost perfect European performance!"

what the **** is he on? you've just lost the game, not, imo, played very well and comes out with that bollox!
he should be laying into the players and telling them that the performance just wasn't good enough!

    get it sorted! <grr>

Completely agree. The bullshit he comes out in the press at times makes me angry.

No question of the performance of the team/performance. Just a cover story. He's like a politician at times.

nah i don't buy that... there'll be one panicker... someone in the bottom half that will get the sack with 5-6 games to go in a vain attempt to stay up... it would be the ultimate irony if it were roberto martinez who gets it from his most ardent admirer i suppose.

southampton was a total shock so you never know... i cannot see it in the top half of the table or mid table. clubs just let it ride don't they?

agent rafa is doing a great job at cheslea IMO ;)

mancini is a dead man walking and everyone at city knows it i reckon.

no lfc fan can say whats in john henry's head and frankly its all about where he gets his advice from... i think anything goes.

look honestly we've known every team of the year really, maybe on the day or maybe before. the rumours are never wrong.... the funny thing is the more baffling or silly the selection the more believable now.

i mean when i think daydo said shevely was rumoured to start on monday i know yeah... typical.... no question fo it being wrong.

Rafa might have earned the tinkerer nickname but now i think its cos he had more players and never let it out.

i am sick too of the PR spin from all angles i nthe club. sick of the barely functional website spinning to the total BS out of rodgers at times... to the flip flop
