I can see this working out perfectly. Chico is fit, plays for an hour by which time we are a couple of goals up, then Monk comes on to replace Chico and lift the cup. Perfick. we have the better defender for the bulk of the game and the long serving captain gets his cameo and part in Swans history.
That would be great, but it depends on the extent of the damage and how good a healer he is. Let's not get too hopeful.
This would be great just as long as he is 100% fit and not nearly fit because he could end up being off longer than necessary...we have cover so its not an issue as if michu is injured and we dont have much of a cover for him...Lets hope he is 100% fit and his temper is in control...
I agree with Dai, wouldn't want to see him on the field unless 100% fit as we will need him for the remainder of the season. Yes its unfortunate, but thats football. The coming games also allow Bartley to have a run in the side unless ML goes with Monk.
We have 8 days for the physios to get chico medically fit and depending how bad his injury is i hope they can do it...this however does not mean he will be match fit as he will not have trained a great deal and will have lost some sharpness and he will need that even though its only against a 2nd division side. ..In the mean time either bartley or monk will be selected for wembley to start and the other on the bench and its a bit of a dilemma on who is best suited, personally i would use the liverpool match to get both players match fit and ready and would play one in the first half and the other in the second half and see which one jells with the other defenders and keeper best and shows some form.....my own feeling is that monk should play at wembley as he is a good captain and has led the team at wembley before but then you could make a case for bartley also, He is younger and should be that little bit fitter and sharper and he has played well in what game time he has had, so there is a case for both but in a vote i would side with the guy who has the experience and has the t-shirt to prove it.....anyway its not our choice at the end of the day.....
I still wouldn't risk him. Would be awful if he played and really did some damage. Let's see how it goes.
yea thats my feeling chico. It would be a huge bonus though if he can get himself match fit to play but i do cringe sometimes that he is going to lose it and get sent off...
If he's guaranteed match fit, he needs to play. If there's ANY doubt, no chance. Lol. Everytime I see him go in to a tackle, I sing "Kung foo fighting" Lol.
