If we can win with no money what does that say about the other big clubs and thier managers? :emoticon-0105-wink:

As for Ancelotti's comments, it's staring you right in the face. He said "I don’t want to put pressure on the referee. I think Howard Webb is a fantastic referee because he has experience. If the referee he has no experience we can perhaps be a bit worried about this but with Howard Webb there is no problem" if that's not putting pressure on the ref through praise then neither are Fergies comments.

Fergie does deserve to get punished for a lot of what he get's pulled up on, but the problem is Fergie always get's pulled on these things. Other managers, no disrespect to them, don't, it's not their fault though it's the spineless FA that ignores anything unless it appears in the media. Man Utd being the most successfull club right now happens to attract the most media attention. This, combined with the FA's spinelss managment the problem is the problem.

You are aware that Sir have another one has broken the British transfer record no fewer than eleven times?

Which makes your opening gambit look a bit silly<laugh>
    Fergie's quote is much different:

Both say webb is good! no problem so far. Carlo then waffles a bit probably due to his English and says nothing other than that an experienced ref is better than an inexperienced referee. No **** Sherlock. but the says Webbs O.K.

Fergie goes deeper Like Carlo says Webbs good, again No problem then goes on about fearing a bad decision? then say's he hopes it his turn for a bit of luck!
He is inferring that because Chelsea had a bit of luck against Spurs they should maybe get the rub of the green this time?

Carlo doesn't ever mention bad decision that fergie's built his career on building a fortress that intimidates referees.
And as the F.A. didn't charge Carlo then they also are in agreement with me he was trying to influence the referee as always.

Its not a spineless F.A thats pisses people off but United's win at all costs anyway, anyhow no holes barred attitude.

That's why your hated, not because your successful but the way its been achieved.

Were you a Liverpool fan circa 1992?

Not really when it was in response you saying that we were potless financially <doh>. I know we have money and have spent money, but you said we had no money, in which case if it were true would bode pretty badly for you and the other big clubs in the league considering we won.

So Fergie isn't allowed to say he hopes for a bit of luck? Besides, that comment is not what Fergie is being charged for, he's being charged for making a positive or negative comment about the referree before the match which is what was in breach of the rules. Something that Ancelotti did also, something many managers do on a regular basis.

To be honest, if you read what I wrote it had nothing to do with other fans opinions of United, only the FA's reactions to what the media pick up on which has nothing to do with what you wrote. Different people like / disslike us for different reasons, some maybe because of what you just wrote but I don't care nor does it have anything to do with my post.

Nope, I live 15 mins down the road from Old Trafford and I've supported United all my life.

Ah, so it's definitely Wengeritis then! <laugh> To refresh your memory (reading glasses on, right?)

    SAF said:

    Ancelotti said:

Now please tell me what objective observer, who was purely being driven by the fahkts and the rules, and not their own personal view, would claim that those two comments, made about the same ref before the same game, are substantially different? They both contravene the same rule, and like you said:

    and
So, what was so different about those comments that one of them deserved a charge and the other didn't? Come on, no BS about "mantras", no pointless attempts to deflect or post a "funny" jpeg, just answer the question. <ok>

Unlike your old duffer he doesn't say I hope the decision isn't decided on a bad decison or that he hoped it would be Chelsea's turn to be lucky!

Listen mate if you can't take it you shouldn't comment on it.

Like me the F.A. are in agreement that fergie is guilty and tried to influence the referee or result other than by footballing matters...as usual
That's why he got fined and Carlo didn't
Its in the papers its a Fact!

Your mantra on it will be how terribly unfair it is and then point at other managers in an attempt to deflect the guilt.

    Shock Horror:laugh::laugh::laugh:

And just like the FA you seem to want to bend the rules to make them fit your own perception of the incident rather than showing consistency. The rule they are enforcing states that managers should not talk about referees before a match, period. Both managers broke that rule before the same game about the same ref, yet only one suffers the punishment, that is what makes this FA charge seem strange and makes them look spineless yet again, bending to the usual media pressure like a puppet on a string.

FA Regulatory Commission statement in relation to charge:

"This is a clear breach of the rule and it is the first time such a matter has been placed in front of a Commission. As a result of this charge the Commission were aware of other occasions where pre-match comments were made by other managers."

IMO the recent statement from the FA is just paving the way for more ridiculous charges being given out next season. If they carry on this way all managers are going to say in press conferences is 'No Comment' maybe with an injury list update.

    Further comment from the FA

"In this case, it was considered to be a minor breach and it should be taken as a warning to all managers in the future that any such breach, even positive comments, are likely to result in a charge by the FA."
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/13387966.stm

Glad to see they accept that it's not just SAF who broke the rule. And the fact he hasn't been fined or punished at all proves the FA didn't think he was trying to "influence" the ref, contrary to the belief of certain strawberry blond bitters <laugh>

The FA should just introduce a new rule to remove any ambiguity - managers/players/club officials are not allowed to make any comment about referees or their assistants whatsoever. The press and media would soon stop asking.
