Where will we be as a team in 12 months time?

Fast forward 12 months.... where do you think we will be in terms of personnel, league position, management, owner etc......?

I think we will finish this season in around 9th or 10th, add a striker and another CB to the ranks in the summer... see Colo, Ranger, Simmo leave..... and kick on from there with less games to play next year.

I can't see MA selling when all the money rolls in next year, he'd surely want to fatten the Toon goose with all this extra cash before taking it to market.

In terms of league position I can see us being in the top 8 for sure, I really can.

Stability is key to mid to long term success and I think that at last we have found that.

 

Not least from the unlikeliest of sources... Ashley and his henchmen.

I do agree, Ranger Simmo Colo to leave. Though I'd much wish Willo were to leave, and Colo would solve his problems and be able to stay on.

 

Agreed mate. MA isn't everyones cup of tea which is understandable, but I'm sure our appreciation of him will grow as the months pass and stricter financial management is enforced.

 

I think we'll still have a black and white stripes as the kit but apart from that, anything could happen!

I do try to be optimistic though so will agree with all of ACS' predictions.

 

With the extra depth we have now, another striker and another CB if Colo goes, I think we can easily push for Europe again next season.

I don't really see anyone big leaving except Colo.

Santon is happy here. Sissoko wont go in Summer. Cabaye is happy here and it would take a massive offer to get him to go. Ben Arfa has been kept humble by his injuries, and hopefully other clubs will judge him on his injuries and think he's not worth the money. Cisse isn't going. Tiote will stay because he's just not been that good.

 

I will stick my neck out and say Colo will stay. The crisis point of whatever crisis he's got having past, I think he'll decide that he's rather earn £3m a year and have soem personal problems than £300,000 a year and have a few less problems.

I expect we will have sold one of our best players for a hefty wedgs and recycled into 4 players.

I think we will be one of the teams scrapping for the last Europa League spot.

 

If we get a good enough striker and another quality CB to replace Colo (or keep Colo) as well as keep all our other strong players... I would be hopeful that we could push for a finishing position from 4th-6th, injuries permitting.

 

We will have sold all our players and have been relegated.

Am i the only 1 who kind of wants to replace Colo? Dont get me wrong he's been great for us and is still great! But he isn't getting younger and his form isn't up to last seasons (admittedly no ones has been) and i personally think Yanga will be as good as him through next season! I'd love to see Cabaye as captain and taylor/new CB as Yangas CB partner!

 

Don't think there will be much choice about it - Colo will be off in the summer! That's why I thought Pards might try Mbiwa alongside Saylor today, as a trial for next season.

 

What do you think Katmandu and mr tiote would suggest ??

We have a very good first team and now a very good bench and promising youth players, we have all the ingredients to be a very good club who could be challenging right up there if we continue to strengthen and build the team up as we have.

However having said all of that I have lost faith in Pardew as a manager, I don't feel he can take us forward long term and I can't see us getting anywhere close to the heights of 5th or pushing for champions league under his reign, the glaring mismanagement of players and tactics this season has left me questioning whether or not we would be better suited with a different manager to take us forward.

The bits and pieces are there I just don't feel we have the right manager and indeed coaching staff to put it all together.

I don't want more instability by chopping and changing managers, I just feel we wont ever reach our potential with him at the helm.

Hope to be proved wrong though.

 

A lot of people have been questioning Pardew's tactical ability and decision making (especially substitutions during a match), so you're not alone. However, I do feel the injury list had been unforgiving this season, so I want to give him a while with a full squad to see what he does. I also want to e proven wrong, as if he does see out all 8 years of his contract, you'd like to think that means he's done something good. I'm yet to be convinced, but willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. For now.
