Who said it will distract the team? I said we, as a club, should be focussing all our attention on going up not being sucked into a pissing contest with the tubbylarders.
As if they give a **** about a tinpot egg chasing team from near Newcastle playing in a mickey mouse league in possibly one of the worlds most pathetic sports. You may not like the sport or the club, but you are factually wrong, which makes it delusional. Vent your spleen if you need to, get it out of your system. What you are saying and doing has nothing to do with sport and pride for your club, it's just you being you. Sad really. Try sitting down and looking at the achievements of Whiteley and Sullivan and how they conducted themselves over very long careers in a hard sport of their choice, that did not pay well (most were bouncers in my day); have some respect for other sports and their achievers, instead of being a two-bit gobshite on a anonymous board.
Thought that was what you meant. As this will in no way involve or affect the playing and coaching staff, I can't see how it would be a distraction to our promotion push.
The club should be seeking to unite the city rather than divide it, so that the groundswell of goodwill and active support carries the players along with it. It's got to be better than antagonising your neighbours and polarising opinions.

My reading of this is that the SMC has been operated without a transparent accounting. Now it is being run with sound business principles and it is only right that income is raised from all of the parties involved. Clubs, fans, concession holds and business users alike.
I have no idea of their achievements and i have no desire to find them out, i agree Hull FC should honour them in our City in some way. However way would you expect a man who has nothing to do with Hull FC, have to give up income to honour him. The SMC clearly isn't performing financially, so the council should only be worried about making the most amount of money that they can, and maybe save the odd job or two. Hull FC can hour their heroes as much as they want and thats fine, but why shouldn't they pay to do that? Or can i honour my family and put a picture up in your house?
Totally agree, but I bet you couldn't find a Hull FC fan who is interested in harsh reality when they are wanting to feel hard done by.
As a private company the accounts don't need to be transparent. They only need to comply with company law. This is the problem when you have a private company running a public asset. Maybe the best solution would be to hand the running of the stadium back to the council and then all transactions would have to be open to public scrutiny.
How am I factually wrong? People laugh at the Wigans and Middlesboroughs of footballs support, and they attract bigger crowds than the supposed 'Man U' of rugby league. Tinpot - Check. I believe FC went bust in 99 and took control of a Gateshead teams league place, transferring the history from the original Hull club. From near Newcastle - Check. Mickey Mouse League, I guess this one can only be classed as a matter of opinion, but a top flight of 14 teams which is half made up of small town teams which probably (I have no idea of the figures and won't bother to research each clubs attendances for the sake of petty argument) average around 5k gates, which includes no relegation or promotion, and every team in every competition in the entire sport combined registered 2.3 million in attendance throughout the entire 2012 season, I think there is a pretty big case for it being classed as a mickey mouse league. To put it into perspective, last seasons Capital One Cup alone (a poorly attended competition widely regarded as a mickey mouse cup by football supporters from far and wide) attracted 1.17 million fans to the stadiums which is half of what the entire Rugby League sport managed to get. I think that's as close to fact as you could ever get. EDIT: Also I never mentioned anything about Whitely or Sullivans ability, achievements, careers or conduct, so I don't see why you brought that into it. I was questioning why our players would care about the sport and what's going on presently.
Then the Allams wouldn't have to be directors of a loss making company, which could have adverse affect credit rating affect on their other business. Can't imagine it's in the Allam's best interest nor the councils for them to continue running the SMC.
Don't be a plank, their involvement with the SMC will not have any impact whatsoever on their multimillion £ profit business that is Allam marine. As for the suggestion that the control be handed back to the council, I hope to God that was meant to be tongue in cheek as I wouldn't trust them to run a bath.
I like the way the Hull fans come on here (Mark Blow + X) giving their views which they are entitled to do. You try going on on blackandwhites.co.uk messageboard and disagree by putting a City point of view. You are immediately accused of been a WUM and banned. You have to tow the party line or they quote one or other condition of use you have broken.
Feel sure that Geraghty will sleep on the problem tonight and come across with a solution tomorrow. Didn't think I'd be able to say that and keep a straight face.
They don't seem to stay and debate though. It's as though they have a single point they think is right, but seem unable to expand when flaws in their thinking is pointed out. I would genuinely welcome being shown where their argument has legs. I'm not fixed in my opinion, but I hold it because I feel I've considered the facts and full picture as best as I can. I don't dismiss the possibility that we're all being conned, but I've certainly seen nothing in any of the arguments offered on the Rugby board to convince me. Oh, and as I'm sure they're reading, they desperately need new mods on there. Such limited debate does them no credit nor their fans any favours, plus it reflects badly on the City.
Fook me, just looked on those forums and in their letters to the council/MPs they actually use Duffen as an example of good business practice. You couldn't make it up. The tossers also keep typing out "Dr" Allam which is just disrespectful beyond belief. I can't be arsed typing out all the other lies and made up ****e on their letters. Fez I might have been persuaded to mellow a little bit on my views, but after browsing that ****e, my view is hardening. Tosspots the lot of them.
Great post. I think you are spot on with this. Like I said earlier in this thread Picturegate is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of what is really happening here.
tomorrow the worst fans in the world will be scraping in barrels trying to defend something that simply will not be defendable ... it will make a great read ... and good job AP is in leeds .. timing impeccable eh ?
I've posted this little snippet of 'reliable' information on here before. Mr Allem has a business plan fully developed, including finance ready to go for a new stadia outside of the City. This comes from a chap who provides business consultancy advice at both local and national government levels. I'm not saying it will definately happen, but these forward thinking business men who have the custody of our club in their hands have got a plan B which is very reassuring. I hope they tell the clowns at HCC to stick their 'white ****e' themed stadium up their arses and commence a new build project a Melton.
