Was it not the final? The way Sky and the media were bigging it up you would have thought it was!?

I think United will go through on penalties. I can see both teams scoring but only once. Honestly... I don't think Arsenal have a hope... Bayern are a class side. Going to the Allianz will be tough and they want to win this so to get over what happened in May.

Of course we do not have a hope. The board and the manager set the tone, and that tone is that we do not belong or compete with such company as Bayern Munich. The last 16 is our limit.

In reality you don't hold a major chance based on the two humiliations against Barcelona where in one of those two finals you never registered a single shot on goal. I think you had a better team then as well but we will see, I'm sure you won't disappoint. :)

Which year was that then? It certainly wasn't '09 because Ronaldo had a couple of his many shots hit the target (quite a few were only just wide too), they were just more clinical on the night and deserved the win, and it couldn't of been 2011 because Rooney scored in that game.

You parked the bus and scored from a corner which never should have been given. You got lucky.

Real score first and it's tie over. Even if you score first it has no real bearing on the tie as Real know they have to score.

2-2 is enough for Real. If the likes of Fulham and Stoke can score twice at OT so can Real.

hardly parked the bus. We had as many clear cut chances as them. What you did against Barcelona and bayern is parking the bus.

well done United on a very well deserved point tonight 2nd leg is going to be very intresting. Arsenal i just cant see going through they could get a point at home but i highly doubt there getting anything in Munich.

Guys the term 'parking the bus' is hopelessly overused. Theres no way on earth Man Utd parked the bus tonight, and similarly i wouldn't say Chelsea parked the bus in the final last year. The onlny team in modern football that has the 'bus' parked in front of them is Barcelona.

How a team that has registered over 10 shots on goal (some of which were clear cut) can be accused of parking the bus is staggering.

The term itself was introduced by Jose (some may say ironically) to describe a team showing literally no attacking intent and parking their entire team in their own half (ala Chelse Barcelona last year, Inter Barcelona 2010, United Barcelona 2008, see the trend here?). That's not to say its necessarily a bad thing, just that tactically its pretty much the only way for any team that isnt Real Madrid to have a chance of coping with Barca's midfield and attack.

Speaking as a fan of football with no axe to grind either way, I was disappointed by the amount of british fans quick to criticise Chelsea after they beat Barca last year. And similarly, I think Man Utd put in an excellent shift last night. In terms of clear cut opportunities they were about even.

Nice words re our final performance last year.

Tbh I get *issed off with some people saying how we should not have won the CL. If you win it you deserve it. Fact is we outplayed all the competition, subduing the mighty Barca' and then stuffing Bayern at their own ground. Not like we got an easy run or anything.

I enjoyed last nights match. Good tactical battle. A lot of people are criticising Real but to me they looked very dangerous. De Gea saved the night for MUFC. Could easily see 2 or 3 more going in with a less able keeper.

Good tactics by Fergie. To me it was clear esp' in second half that he was content with the away goal and a draw hence the number of MUFC players carrying out defensive duties. Not a critisicm of that style - you just do what it takes to get the right result.

About 20 of them were from outside the box plus Man Utd had more clear cut chances.

Tbh... who really cares if you park the bus or not? I would rather park the bus and win the Champions League than go all out attack and fail to do so. It's tactics against your opposition. When I got back from Munich I was quite shocked by the number of people criticising our performance saying it wasn't proper football etc... do me a favour? If it was your team you wouldn't give a ****! United didn't park the bus against Real. They had a fair amount of chances. It's tactics anyway and Fergie got his just about right.

I have a feeling that Arsenal might just upset the odds against Munich

Munichs overconfidence will be evident and the battle between Schweinsteger and Wilshere should be great

Only problem for Arsenal is the left back situation, Vermaelen against the pace of Robben/Shaqiri/Ribery and with no tracking back from an unwilling Podolski it could be the thing that decides the whole tie

  20. Both you and United play anti-football against the world's true elites.

That's being fair, because I'm not favouring either you or United.
