Nothing really we don't already know, but not a bad read nontheless http://espnfc.com/blog/_/name/swanseacity/id/886?cc=5739#
A good read, thanks for posting! certian people on here will have been delighted just reading the words "Gower being shown the door" in print!! haha!! On Europe, should we qualify, just wondering how Monaco are doing in Ligue 1, a re-match with them after our last soujorn into Europe would be nice don't you think. I was at the home leg as a kid at the Vetch, did anyone on here make it to the away game?
Decent take on Graham being worth more as an asset for sale in Jan than on the bench unhappy. It was apparent that was hiw ML saw him, and it makes sense to cash in....injuries permitting. Good article
I was about to put this one up, spotted it on newsnow, great read, must admit, i like the way it sums up how he dealt with the old rear gaurd, and graham, but the bit I really like is No 5: Yes get in there Swansea!.................... please log in to view this image
Thanks for that, an interesting read. 5 Million for DG was a good price and a good time to sell. I don't think we would have got as much for him in the summer. ML and HD are shrewd, no panic buying for another CF, money in the bank, Premier League status all but assured for next year and a good chance or Euro league football although not discounting Bradford's threat by any means. I'm sure they have someone in mind and can't wait to see who who it is.
What a great blog. Well spotted,SA9. Mr.Laudrup is the real deal,as we already know. His dissolution of Rodgers' Swans has been almost surgical, and with more players to arrive next season, wow, what a prospect. However, whilst we salivate and lick our lips at what the future might hold, let us spare a thought for those players who have contributed to the rise of the Club, but who are now no longer required. They deserve our thanks and respect, and not the scorn that is sometimes evident here. Because they are now deemed surplus to requirements,is a sad fact of life for them. Once they were heroes, now they are the great unwanted. Put yourself in their boots for a few moments,it must be heartbreaking for the likes of Alan Tate not to be wanted/needed at the Club he has graced for so many years. So,praise them for their efforts, and not laugh because they are no longer good enough.
Max Hicks is awesome, I don't know if you folks would believe it, but that is not one of his best blog posts, he blogs entirely about the Swans on the Soccernet website for ESPN. Often he uses great statistical analysis and I would highly recommend creating an ESPN Soccernet account because if you ask this guy question on his blog comment section he usually will answer them, he takes the duty of being Swansea's blog master on the ESPN website very seriously... and very personal. If any of you sign up, you'll see me there as SupersSwans
Cracking read that. I know Max, had no idea he was doing that blog though. Good on him. Tis good to be a Jack! I hope we don't come to regret the DG transfer as I would rather have waited until summer to sell and replace but in Laudrup we trust. COYS
That's a valid point Vetch, but causing trouble for Laudrup, by going behind his back to Huw Jenkins, doesn't exactly endear themselves to us fans, so if you don't mind I'll hold back from engaging fully your view on this! Just saying as I see it....
"doesn't exactly endear themselves to us fans". I think you've forgotten to include the word "unforgiving" between "us" and "fans",Dragon. Martinez;Rodgers, now Tate.Who next I wonder? Forgiveness seems to be in very short supply on this board, and that saddens me. ... That's a Valentine's Day rose for you. I forgive you your unforgiving nature. ...
Great blog by Max who consistently posts the best stuff I read about the Swans on the net. I know him to be a huge fan of many years but he's not afraid to dole out the brickbats when required either. He also loves his music and has featured in a number of South Wales bands including Kokapele, Cubare, Joy of Sex and now the Totem Terrors (just making a studio album). I don't remember which band he was with but at the time it featured six separate songs in the top ten download chart at the same time. I can't quite remember but I think the chart listed the most downloads of unsigned bands and the song at number one I believe had the most downloads in one year. His music is alternate rock (which might not be everybody's cup of tea) and he can be heard often on BBC Radio Wales and BBC Radio 6. Really well worth a listen if you're into that kind of music and as good as anything in the genre. Talented man is Max and I love reading his blogs about the Swans - informative and written to a high professional standard.
My old band played a few gigs with Cubare Ivor, I think it was the beatbox on the high street normally. cracking band.
Steve, Cubare almost got a recording contract. In fact they were offered one by Food label (Blur etc) part of EMI. Before the contract was signed, Time Warner made a takeover bid for EMI and they knocked all development (new contract) deals on the head. Had this happened one week later, the contract would have been signed and I doubt that Max would have had time to do his football blog. Such is life. What band did you play for, Steve? I know Max was good pals with the guys from Murray the Hump, another good band.
