True. At least they've got their 'Malaysian derby' to hope for if they **** up their promotion push again or if QPR pull off a miracle and stay up
Well I never thought I'd say this, but I'd sooner welcome Cardiff to the premiership, than the QPR idiots, it's a no brainer! Get it sorted aber dude, I want to see you boys coming up, and the Bush idiots going the opposite direction..........
well we have 2 have history dude tell me why your club is celebrating with a golden swan this year hey>>>>u may only want the last two seasons on your cv but im afraid the fact is,the history is there and im not sure you should discredit past players for two seasons of so called success if u can call mid table success that is phil your wish is my command ......<wink>
there is plenty of snow and forests left - mind you we could replant everything and increase dependence on those nice generous Arab gentlemen.
Cardiff only has one thing that is better than we have in swansea and that is Shopping apart from that they share 2nd 3rd and 4th newport and wrexham, we take 1st spot with 99% of everything else and our only blight is 4th place for shopping...
Having lived, worked and gone to University in Cardiff,I have to say the City Centre area from The Stadium,to The Castle, down to Queen Street Station, wipes the floor with Swansea's,and it's not just "the shopping". Swansea, however, has something Cardiff will never have - HEART! The people of Swansea are a lot nicer, kinder and more friendly. That's not just my opinion, either. So,much as I love Cardiff as the Capital of Wales,it's Swansea for me every time.
& the Gower & the Swans & Swansea Bay & Unity as supporters, & Mumbles & Thai Elephant, & Waterfront Museum
Bony,I was referring to the City Centre, and The Mumbles,Gower, etc., do not form part of Swansea's City Centre. Strolling around the Centre of Cardiff is a more pleasurable pastime than strolling around the Centre of Swansea. In my opinion.
the shopping center is the only thing better like i said ..the rest of cardiff is scruffy and ****....their water front is a joke, they could have done better than that and dont talk about the assembly building. If they want people to take them serious then they should have built something better than that eye sore.....IKA is better suited...
I appreciate what you wrote was aimed at the City Centre but how can Swansea or else where compete with Cardiff in terms of investment ,every where outside the CF post code is on a hiding to nothing when it comes to the shops available compared to Swansea , personally it doesn't bother me what cardiff offers as a shopping experience (ask the wife for confirmation of that statement ) but as long as the money earned in Swansea is spent elsewhere then obviously we'll come second. We (Swansea ) has just had the rug pulled from under us in terms of investment in SA1 where monies were promised but diverted else where ( need I say where) hence the amount of prepared land ripe for further development now laid waste .Good luck to cardiff but I'm sorry the focus on developing that city has been to the detriment the rest of Wales .
u wanna try living in the valleys then bony>>>>>fk me you think you have it hard>>>>>personally im in the middle of both cities but cardiff wins it hands down when it comes 2 visiting and shopping.. lets be honest the last time i was in the mumbles most of it was either shut or over priced for tourists (pensioners)..........it hasnt been the same since the sands bar shut
I don't disagree with you re investment, bony, but it was ever thus. Swansea cannot compete with Cardiff when most of the investment goes their way,but I can't help but think of all the monies that have been wasted in Swansea down the years. It's been a mess for more years than I can remember. I wasn't diminishing Swansea in my earlier post. It was in response to Dai's post that Cardiff was only superior due to it's better "shopping". I reiterate my earlier statement,to whit, that the centre of Cardiff is a far nicer place to wander around. That's all.
My last word on the matter (for now anyway) New Cardiff Ikea store condemned by Swansea campaigners Section Business | Published on 2 Mar 2001 Plaid Cymru's Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Swansea West Ian Titherington has bitterly condemned the decision to site Ikea in Cardiff, after a Plaid Cymru campaign to site it in Swansea. The announcement to site Ikea in Cardiff is to be made today by Tony Blair in Cardiff, and comes after months of campaigning by Plaid Cymru Swansea to bring the store to the city. Ian Titherington said, "How on earth did this happen? I do not believe that Swansea did not have a site suitable for Ikea, and am astounded that Cardiff was chosen when its relative economic prosperity has already filled most of its available sites. Swansea has been stabbed in the back yet again - I am angry and disgusted. One of Ikeas main criteria for siting the new store was a large brownfield site, close to the motorway network. They had previously stated that there were no suitable sites in Cardiff. The new Chair of Swansea Plaid Cymru and Ikea campaigner Gary Smith has questioned what behind the scenes deals took place for Cardiff to win the new Ikea. Gary Smith said, "I am deeply disappointed that yet again Swansea has lost out to its bigger and richer neighbour, particularly when the Government and WDA have repeatedly stated that West Wales is a priority area for new jobs. I feel betrayed by Blair, Labour and the WDA this is yet another sad day for our citys economy. Ian Titherington pointed out the irony of Tony Blair making the announcement in Cardiff, when the Welsh Labour Conference was being held in Swansea. Ian Titherington said, "Tony Blair has the nerve not only to make the announcement when the Labour Conference is in Swansea, but to make it in Cardiff. "The BBC News even stated this morning that the conference was in Cardiff and not Swansea! This is a slap in the face for Swansea and for the local Labour party representatives. They should have got off their backsides and fought tooth and nail for these 500 jobs, but yet again they have failed Swansea. They will pay for this decision in the polls
like i said u wanna try living in th valleys then you would see u got it good compared 2 most of wales
