OT- The 2013 Holiday Thread

Just curious where people are planning on going this year for their holidays/planned trips (if anywhere)?

Are you hopping on a plane or staying in blighty?

I have a week in Marmaris, Turkey in May, followed by Ibiza once again in August (the island is sooooo beautiful).

I'm in the US on business next month but am highlighy unlikely to get any 'down time' so to speak.

 

Enjoyed some good holidays in the States, the best one's were in Barbados though.

Got there just as the rainy season was finishing one year and another time was the Christmas period when they were playing White Christmas etc in air condithioned restuarants and when you walked into a wall of humidty when you walked through the automatic doors thinking you'd actually walked into the glass door.

 

I'm off to Uganda for a month in July. Who knows, I might run into JWAG while I'm out there?

 

What you could call a small world, although I suppose you'll both be doing something similar so might just bump into each other.

Going to Rhodes for 2 weeks in August.

 

In the US on business? Is this a regular thing, or a one-off? Securing a big deal? Being entertained as a key client? Visiting any pole dancing clubs? We need more info!

 

Am off to Egypt for a week in August with day trips booked to Jordan and Jerusalem

 

Lakes for three days next week.

Corfu for a week in May.

Portugal for two weeks at the end of August.

 

I experienced the same mad thing in the Dom Rep once. Xmas carols and sand don't seem to mix.

 

Rhodes town is lovely. Part of Guns Of Naverone was filmed in the old town. Try to catch the hydrofoil to Marmaris for the day- a good change of culture.

 

I'm off to LA early March for a couple of meetings. I go every year at the same time as there's a big natural products expo on at the same time. This year I'm looking for the next big thing to bring back to the UK. It's a long slog tbh and coming back I always feel wrecked by jet lag. The only little luxury will be a training run up from Venice Beach, via Santa Monica to Malibu the day I come back. Lovely part of the world, really is.

 

Never been to Portugal but heard very good reports.

 

Had a Portugese guy working for me at one time, his parents had a Hotel on the beach and I was told I could have a free holiday whenever I wanted. I didn't take him up on it though.

 

Out of interest... Anyone been to Tunisia.
