We either play him or get rid of him , the latter looks more likely so good luck to him. His nod down for Lambert against Leeds will be my only memory of him, apart from that I cant think of much else
As it turns out that was a pretty big contribution to our promotion last season. But other then that, his one and only goal for us was rather good.
You can't remember the goal against Derby? Shame it never really happened for him but might be best to move him on to be honest.
Ah yeah there was that and an fa cup goal against Millwall? that injury last season really blighted him
That was a sensational goal, but hasn't worked out for him. He has had injuries, but hasn't been picked despite presumably being fit, as he played a couple of u21 games (and scored one goal). I wondered if he would suit Poch better, but no sign of that either. Shame, but unless Poch can hand on heart say that he wants him, it's best for him to move on. Yoshida will miss him, though.
He did well in the Championship, great goal against Derby, superb knock down for Rickie against Leeds, fantastic run and assist for Lallana goal against Barnsley and he also got us the Pen v Watford. The Barnsley and Leeds assists were major catalysts in our promotion. Just a shame his injury has got the better of him since he's been with us.
I still reckon he could hvae a role as an impact sub if we are losing a game - it's just so far in the past few games we haven't needed that option off the bench! Similarly Mayuka I reckon could become an excellent impact sub, offers a different style of attack from the others we have. Both need to get some time on the pitch though to prove this
He was a free wasn`t he ? Good business then if he does go, and an example of the business principles NC wants in our transfer dealings.
He was but on the other hand he's one of our highest earners due to the generous promotion clause in his contract. If he's not going to figure in the team then that's reason enough to get shot of him.
Sounds like the right thing all round then. Hes at the age where he should be playing first team football and we do without him on our wage bill.
Interestingly, that's actually a step down from where he was before. Sanfrecce Hiroshima won the league last season, and Tokyo finished 10th.
He's joined them now on loan. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/chung-makes-japan-return-656479.aspx
Hmm, bet we're still paying his wages then. Seems more like a chance for him to get his fitness and form back than an attempt to get rid of him.
I agree, it will be good for him, and it will become apparent whether he can resurect his career, he had talent, just a matter if that can be used in the right manner.
