Just like to find out who you would like to meet living or dead. I have several people I'd like to chat with eg: Socrates, Henry David Thoreau, Morrissey, Paul Weller, Bill Hicks. Socrates and Thoreau for their philosophical views. Morrissey and weller to mainly ask about the jam and the smiths and Hicks because well he made me think more than any anyone else.
My Grandad on my dads side as he was only 66 and I was only 12 months old when he died and never got to meet him. 40 years down the pits did for him and his lungs before he could enjoy retirement. I'll hate hate that **** Thatcher until my dying day for treating such good men and communities so badly and for good measure, you can throw that conceited little twat Scargill in the same pot. He treated the miners with the same contempt both at the time and since. Both as bad as each other imo.
Laurel & Hardy, Isimbard Brunel, Steven fry, Grace Kelly, Nicole kidman, Sergio leone, John wayne, Jesus, Bobby thompson ( whom my dad spoke to and my mother saw him perform in a bingo hall). Bill hicks was brilliant and there is a story that once when he performed at a club in america a nutter went up to him with a gun pointed at him but did not shoot him !.
Sir Ranulph Fiennes, seen a couple of interviews with him and he sounds like a very decent bloke to have a pint with. Jengis Kahn to see if he was just an angry bloke with loads of mates.
Ben Kingsley, Morgan Freeman, Daniel Day Lewis and Jack Nicholson just to give them a 4 pack and chocolate orange each for making good films, great. Ayrton Senna - because I'd like to see him race the new breed, he'd destroy them all. Megan Fox - so I could sniff her chair when she's gone. Justin Timberlake - Just in case Megan Fox won't get out of her chair, he'd eventually get her up to his hotel room.
Hitler (kick in the nuts, or is that nut?) Richard III (see if he's as bad as he's painted) Einstein (just what the **** does all that mean?) Mozart (genius, but was he a twat as well) To name but a few...
Reet for once serious.. Hitler....cos he was nut's, or was he" General Westmoreland, cos he ****ed the Yanks in Vietnam Maggie T......cos she was used as a puppet
I wouldn't mind chatting to the Dalai Lama he some sounds one heck of an amazing character with a personality to boot ... was fortunate in my youth to meet (on a couple of occasions)both my lifelong heroes Buddy Rich and Louis Bellson both amazing drummers and big band leaders ...but maybe that's another story for a different thread
Thatcher and Regan so they could see the mess their policies have left the world financial system in.
I'm fascinated by the ancient Greek philosopher Epicurus, who if memory serves me right was prominent around 300BC. In my opinion his ethics and teachings have stood the test of time.
John Lilburne - English Civil war pampheltier from Sunderland who was of the Levellers persuasion who believed that every man was born free and equal. Bill Hicks - a great free thinker Any one who fought with the International Brigade brave men and women who fought and died for their beliefs who saw what was coming in Europe and stood up to it before Governments did especially the Anarchist Brigades in Barcelona who made that city an example of how anarchism can work
