    For me, Messi is the better footballer. Whenever they come up against one another, only one of them sulks their way around the pitch, and it isn't Messi. Ronaldo plays like an individual, acts like an individual and thinks of himself as one. Messi is so good because he's a team-player, in probably the greatest team to watch with some of the greatest players on Earth, and yet he still shines. That is the mark of a sensational player.

    And I think he'd be awesome for Stoke!

    This. Watching one team knock three yard passes for 80+ minutes does not equate viewing pleasure.

    I enjoy it. I think sometimes passing the life out of teams does get irritating, but then I don't watch them every week, so having watched a few weeks of Pardew hoofball, even the faintest trace of possession football gives me a Tashgasm...

    At least we're playing some nice stuff now, I suppose. How's Marty's sexy every man behind the ball working for you?

    <laugh>

    Maybe for the derby we should just put a massive net down the middle of the pitch and play football-tennis instead! Willo's all about the baseline rallies <ok>

    Nah, we call this North-East Tennis... It involves poorer technique, more Ameobi's, and a lot more foreplay <ok>

    You could argue that is what makes him a sensational player also. The fact that he has emerged at exactly the same time that his supply line developed into the best midfield pairing Barcelona have ever had, is purely good timing. The formula Barcelona have is not sustainable, once Xavi goes (retires) his replacement will be probably Fabregas who is maybe 85% of the player Xavi is. This will have a knock on effect to how good Iniesta performs, he'll have to work harder for the ball, he'll not have the options that Xavi offers him. The chemistry and balance they have in that squad is perfect almost, they are as good as it's ever been at club level. However, recently we've heard Messi's first ever murmur that he'd like to end up in Argentina again eventually, he said this just last week after he signed another new contract at Barcelona. This is him planting seeds for an exit route for when the Barca empire starts to crumble maybe...I'm not sure, but he'll be out of there like a shot I'm certain of it, the moment the team can't play to his strengths any longer.

    I'd argue that Ronaldo has no stones unturned, there's no questions over his head that people need answers for - he has no critics. Messi will retire with questions unanswered.

    Still there's nothing in it for me, I just prefer Ronaldo's devastating style of play. It entertains me more.

    I'm sure a lot people find Kate Middleton ultimately more attractive than Carmen Electra but I know who I'd rather get stuck on a desert island with.

    Kate is preggers. You would get no help from her building rudimentary shelter and coconut radio's.

    To be fair... When that lid pops you've got the making of some sweet child labour right there. Having a princely butler might be worth the hit in the long run. That reminds me, I'd imagine an unladen Carmen Electra will be able to run away faster <monster>

    I personally think that Leighton Baines or Phillip Lahm need to be in there somewhere... always solid and create shed loads of chances for their strikers...

    <doh><doh> Everybody knows you train monkeys as butlers. And as the continent of Africa has taught us, children are used as soldiers. To be used to invade near by land masses because a desert island will be short on resources.
