At start of season I would have been happy if Liverpool were not in this competion at all as we clearly did not have the strength and depth to compete in this, the league and both domestic cups. However as we are now out of both cups and have no chance of getting into top 4 I say we might as well go for it now as even a mickey mouse trophy is better than no trophy. My prediction is 2.1 defeat tomorrow and 2.0 win at Anfield.
I reckon we are going to batter them 4-0 Whisper: this may be an attempt at double reverse psychology.
I think early stages, you could maybe say Mickey Mouse. Now???? Absolutely not, only quality teams and I want us to win this and show that we have some prestige and win a fairly major trophy.
Have to go for it, really. Nothing to lose, the league is a wash so at least lets try win a trophy - although the competition this year is tough.
THIS FROM THE CLUB SITE: Brendan Rodgers has named a strong squad to face Zenit St Petersburg in the first leg of our Europa League last 32 tie. All of the big names are on the plane to Russia aside from January signings Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge - both of whom are ineligible. Nineteen-year-old Conor Coady could also get a chance to impress after he was named among the travelling 20 alongside fellow youngsters Suso, Andre Wisdom, Raheem Sterling and Jonjo Shelvey.
With the way this season has been winning a trophy would make it right. It depends on which team turns up though will it be the good Liverpool or the bad Liverpool, we may get through this and I have have to believe we can win the whole thing.
Heard Aggers not travelled , would like to see Wisdom given a go at CB, suspect it will be MS/JC though Expect Sterling and Allen to be in the 11

I'm a Redman. I've been a Redman for the greatest period of my life. I was a Kopite, when standing on the Kop was something. I've never gone to a match or watched a match and not believed that Liverpool could not win. I'm not stupid. I'm not deluded. I know we are no longer Kings of Europe. However I'll watch this match with hope in my heart because those words mean something to me. So I voted for a Liverpool win and until the opposite is proved that is what I will be hoping for.
