I liked it. As soon as they came on there was presence up front and they seemed to fit together, and at the end i saw them hugging and congratulating massive improvement from the simpson, koren partnership in the first half.
I thought Proschwitz was **** personally, never held it for more than a couple of seconds and just offered no presence at all, his glorious miss capped it all off. I think he's getting let off a **** performance because Gedo carried him throughout the half and made such an impact.
In wasn't too impressed with Prossy, thought Simpson looked good, held the ball up well when it got to him. I would try Simpson and Gedo as well for the next game.
If you are having a moan about Proschwitz and praising Simpson I don't understand you. He hasn't scored since November.
Neither look like scoring for me, but while neither look like they will Simpson holds the ball better then Prossy so would like to see how him and Gedo play together, also currently Simpson has created the most goals for us.
By a long way too. Simpson is the current whipping boy it seems, but he's better than he gets credit for and I think Gedo really would be the perfect partner for him because he's push the defence back a bit and create some space for Simpson. When Simpson and Koren play together the defence know they can just sit on halfway and no one will get behind them so it just becomes a huge mass of bodies miles from the goal.
I thought last night was Proschwitz's worst game for City. Apart from the sitter he missed at the end, nothing stuck, he was ineffective in the air and his ball control was poor. I think Bruce will start with Gedo and Simpson (who can at least control the ball) but will be looking forward to Gedo and Aluko and if we get him, Boyd and Gedo with Aluko in behind.
Why an earth would you play Boyd ahead of Aluko? Boyd is an out and out midfielder, at least Aluko has pace to play as a forward (and I'm starting to think he's as much a forward as he is a winger).
Okay, well switch those two around, but I think those three would be a handful for any defence we are going to come up against for the rest of this season
I thought prozzy did ok, I thought his hold up was ok he did well when Meyler hit the post. Had he scored (and it was a bad miss) we'd have been saying these 2 are the way forward. I'd like to see them from the start Saturday, simmo was I'm last night but in the wrong areas not in the area on the end of crosses were we need him
League only... Proschwitz - 21 appearances(5 starts) Simpson - 29 appearances(23 starts) Though I'm ignoring the stats, as I simply think Simpson/Gedo would make a better partnership.
