We need to freshen things up or risk being in the same position as we were last season - relying on the same 11 every game. I'd start Proschwitz and Gedo with Koren back in midfield tonight. Evans had a poor game against Brighton & I would leave him out tonight
Good shout. Thought Evans was poor too. Should never have been pushed out the way so easily when defending in the wall, or at least should have gone down... he needs to get more savvy, he needs to get a meaner side to his game, otherwise huge potential.
From KingFut reports, Gedo needs someone to play off (where have we heard that before...) and IMO, Simpson holds the ball up better than Prossie. Although I wouldn't be too disappointed to see either Simmo or Prossie partner Gedo up front tonight, as long as Koren is sitting deeper (perhaps on the bench?).
Don't be such a drama queen, honestly. In January we had 3 league games, two away and one at home. We drew two and lost one. there was also the messing around with the team caused by the FA Cup. Big deal. We've played 2 league games in Feb, both away, won one lost one, that's fine. If we did that all season it would be a good away return. What we have now (and what we need now) is a run of games where we can pick up some momentum and some points. If at the end of the next 5 games we are adrift of the top two places, then questions can be asked, but it aint an indication of how the season is progressing to judge us over the last 6 weeks.
He does then forget to pass it to anybody and lose the ball. Its shocking, he is in shocking form he needs goals and there not coming. We can't kid ourselves and keep saying he is going to come good, he really isn't good enough.
Agree with this, go for broke. If we can use these next few games to get ahead of Watford and Leicester we can nick the automatic spot, assuming be don't have to play the ref again.
Our fate has been in our own hands up to now. Its up to use to take the chance now. I seriously dont think he will - I hope I'm proven wrong this evening.
I guess my expectations are pretty high, but we should have beaten Sheffield Wednesday and the less said about Peterborough the better. Yeah, ok, maybe they are scrapping for survival, but if we don't go up this season (not the complete end of the world imo) then those are the games we will look at and see as valuable points dropped. There's plenty still to play for and as others have said, it's in our hands, but I just don't think the way we've been playing is as good as we can give. We've seen us at our best; the games against Leeds, Wolves and Huddersfield were exceptional and earlier than that, the games against Watford and Forest also stick out in the memory. It's just frustrating that we don't seem to have that killer edge that we all know we are capable of having. All teams have blips; Cardiff are notorious for it and QPR in their promotion season were hardly consistent so I'm not going to condemn us at all. What I will say is I hope we can fix this now, starting tonight, before the players start to get frustrated at themselves which would be completely unfair on them. I think we'll win tonight, Derby have problems in their defence and as long as we keep Jeff Hendrick and Connor Sammon quiet, we should be alright.
We sign him now and send someone at the club on a one month course to learn all about the loan rules. That way they'll return in time to tell us to get P'boro to recall him for a couple of weeks during the international break.
I think you should e-mail the club about this. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they didn't actually know. The football secretary who usually knows about this kind of stuff is new and isn't a football person really like everyone else at the club.
It is difficult to pass it to anyone when invariably there is no one in support to receive a pass. Not having 2 recognised strikers on the pitch mean we are suffering the same as last season when Fryatt was up front on his own. We need 2 strikers on the pitch, watching Liverpool last night looked like a premier league version of us - 19 attempts on goal scored none. West Brom 2 shots on goal scored 2.
Goals was my original point. The lack of them is all that is missing. Agreed with John Walkington. Get him in now and put some pressure on Koren again. Boyd can play as a striker. He started as a striker. As the saying goes if your good enough........
You are joking right ? It's his speciality. Oh you kidder, you got me. Oh and who the **** is rating every thread on here, with five stars, and why ?
