    He had a stopover. :)

He liked it so much he stayed for two years. Longest stoppver I've had was a weekend in Singapore.

I consider Clyne to be our best signing this season, and also our least necessary. Funny, that.

I think Ramirez was our best signing, but Clyne has been our best performing signing. Not much between them all though to be fair, with Rodriguez, Davis and Boruc recently finding their feet, the only acquisitions that have really failed would be Gazzaniga and Mayuka. But you could easily argue they are both very long-term acquisitions so them not performing right off the bat is not a failure.

There's snow? Haven't seen snow for weeks on the Island...perhaps they should come here for warm weather training. Fonte won't even need his top:emoticon-0110-tongu

I live in Newport and it was my day off...I must have blinked. Mind you, the weather can be strange on the island with rain in one town and not in another within such a small place.

Clyne's been brilliant for us all season, a truly inspired signing at £2.5m or whatever it was. Yoshida started off shaky but has definitely grown into a great defender, and the same can be said of Boruc in goal. Ramirez has disappointed me a little this season, considering the price tag. His early injury hasn't helped though, and I'd assume that he will find his feet sooner rather than later. Rodriguez is starting to find his feet now a little, although he is another I'd like to see more of. I'm desperate to see what Mayuka can do too.

As for our "old guard" so to speak, it's been great to see Lambert step up so much in the Prem, much like he did moving up to the Championship. A lot of people doubted he'd even do it in the Championship, never mind in the Prem, and for him to be level top English scorer, with more goals than Rooney, is an amazing achievement, and it would be great to see him up there at the end of the season.

And with regards to the OP, I'd agree with everything that was said, although I would dispute that Kelvin could do a job if required, as he's had two stints in goal and both times he made some rather shocking errors.

The fact that PO10 is not presently in stocks outside SMS proves that not606 is complicit in this calumny. Your name is in the book and come the revolution....

If we are to keep up the high tempo the players need to be super fit. No breaks for them!

Do you remember the distance runner Bedford? Not the fastest sprinter so he decided to run hard from the start...would get laps ahead in the 10,000 metres and win because no one could close that lead down. In a very short time, he had ruined his body and never raced again. Have to be careful not to stress the body too much...though with modern monitoring I doubt that would happen.

Jack Cork was saying he felt that he needed two hearts to play the style that MP wants. I'm sure Nicola must be thinking along those lines for next season. Eminent cardiac surgeons have been seen at St. Mary's...

Remember the Athletic Bilbao - Man U Europa League tie last season? Athletic pressed them so much, and they didn't seem to break sweat at all. It would be great if we could get that going too...

A new training camp has been set up in the mountains of Peru, Inca decendants have hearts and lungs 1 and a half times the size of ours

High altitude training is actually a good shout...though takes some time and care. It will also prepare us for the heady heights of the top four.<laugh>

Hope not he's not worth that kind of money, £9 million max probably, though he is a talent and gets a few goals and more assists than are current CM. More a summer signing but him, Ramirez and Lallana in the same team could create a hell of a lot of scoring opportunities.
