If Bothroyd is not being played at CF and others who are not are played in that position, why is he in the 25? Whether we like him or not why is he not in the team? Should we not play him for one half and BZ for the other because we don't look like scoring many right now so what do you think.

    You make sense mate.
I don't rate Betty, but as BZ can't play more than 45mins, we may as well start one of them each half. The alternative is to play 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 with Remy as the centre forward.

Harry doesn't rate him & he's right. But he should have played a part in the last 2 games.

I'd be more inclined to stick Samba up front for a half

It's a very good point and Harold has to earn his bucks now ... I believe in these players and the squad and it's completely complexing that a team can't be formed that should easily challenge anyone in this division and get a run of form going. I still think that we will need to tighten up again to get anything out of a match at the moment. We must stay in the game as it has already been proven we give ourselves too much to do chasing the game.

We can play but IMO its has to be from a very tight foundation

I am not a fan of Bothroyd's but what you propose makes sense. I would prefer him up top to either Mackie or Taarabt.

Those days are gone Dave. We have to attack and give ourselves a chance to score goals and win games.
We tried to be tight at Swansea and got hammered. I'd rather we went for it and went down with some fight if that's our fate.

Watching Liverpool v WBA game now, but initially selected the wrong channel and found myself viewing Rowan Vine scoring in the Hibernian v St. Johnstone game. He added a second goal 4 min later and likely should have taken the penalty shot they missed for his hat-trick. Now 3-0 up - Vine looks lean & fit and appears to have re-invented his career up there.

    1957:
GOAL- Hibernian 0-2 St Johnstone (Vine)
It's a second for St Johnstone and a second for Rowan Vine. The striker collects the ball on the left side of the box, cuts inside and superbly bends it past Ben Williams, with the diving Ryan McGivern unable to block the ball on the line.

    1953:
GOAL- Hibernian 0-1 St Johnstone (Vine)
The visitors take the lead. Steven MacLean's swerving shot is parried by Ben Williams and Rowan Vine lashes the rebound home.

I think that Zamora and Betty are both very similar players.

As was Heidar Helguson, who was great at scoring and holding up the ball.

Harry obviously rates Betty more than DJ otherwise he wouldn't have let DJ go to Blackburn.

Who the **** DOES Harry rate?! Do you know what I mean? He doesn't rate DJ, doesn't rate Betty. We all know they've been good in the past so can't he work with what he's got and get the best out of them?!

I am starting to get the horrible impression that Harry doesn't rate enough of our players to think we have a chance. Is he just going through the motions?

I disagree that Harold doesn't rate our players his man management skills suggest to me he gets the best out of them in the past . I understand it looks simple but most of the work is done on the training pitch and maybe Betty just isn't cutting it there I don't think Col you should think that about our players
He has made some bold decisions

Betty IMO simply doesn't move enough for Harold and BZ is of course a better player.

You have to contain away from home and so far IMO Harold has tried this

Please remember that is exactly what teams try and do on the main when they come to LR ... Norwich did that well to start with whereas we had to play away at home against city and spurs

I agree time is running out but we have seen against Liverpool and Swansea you go a couple down then you have a problem getting back

You have to be in it to win it

I think at home against United you will see a away performance and a real go away against the saints again once we have neutralised the game
Look at how Reading game plan they look out of it most games but then the get stronger ... Game plans are strange for us to understand but it's clear they exist

    Example

Black Cats we have to go for it of course but even there look at the dangers they have ...
Two strikers who are clever and strong
Two skilful players in Seessnon and Johnson powerful at set pieces a long and short ball game a manager who reads the game as well as anyone
A midfield loony in lee cater mole Who is without doubt the hardest midfielder in the division ... It's not easy to break a team like that we of course need to get in the lead and win the game I am sure that then you will get to see the team sweating blood and hopefully the quality we have in these tight games comes through
I fully expect the scorelines to increase
In fact I am confident they will

Every game will be a cup final

I guarantee you no one at QPR wants to go down and thinking that Harold doesn't believe in the players is daft

I would definitely give Bothroyd a chance. It's not that long ago he played for England for Christ's sake. At the end of last season, I would have been happy to see him leave us but he's in the 25 and we are desperate for a centre forward.

Plus, most importantly, I've seen him play a couple of times since he came back from his loan spell and seen some promising signs. He worked hard, held the ball up and won lots of headers. Now there's a sentence I never thought I'd write about Jay Bothroyd.

Come on, Harry, give him another chance!

Agree, as much as it pains me, Betty deserves a chance.

Saw him at West Brom in the cup where he started off pretty rubbish but improved as game got on, he even managed to score that night.

Definitely worth a go, can't see a better option.
