Don't know why so many people are saying fox was outstanding... Their goal was entirely his fault and he didnt add a lot offensively... I'm not normally a fox basher but that wasn't one of his best games personally! Everyone else 8 or above... Boruc made 2 top saves

How could it have been Fox's fault? Davis tried to get the ball to him from the corner but Dzecko got to it first, and City broke out. True, Fox didn't get back in time but no-one else did either. You just can't make it Fox's fault. I thought it was probably his best game for us.

I think this quote/question sums up how far our team (and defence) has come since those first few games. If someone told me we would be posting this about our defence come February I would never have believed them. Spoilt for choice and happy for this to continue!

You are clueless if you think the goal was entirely fox's fault.

I agree, it was obviously a training ground routine that didn't work through a good interception, it left Fox stranded up field, Clyne to his credit got across to cover but then didn't put in a telling tackle and the ball ran well for the City breakaway, the goal was a bit fluky too but Boruc had come out a long way and was a bit unlucky.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! Lets all focus on something that was only a very small part Fox, and ignore his good tackling and his simply brilliant ball to Lambert that lead to the goal!

His only real error was when he stood on the ball trying to keep it in near the half way line and City had a break away. He is not really PL standard, however yesterday he had a good game.

You sound like my Dad who picks on a players one mistake and forgets the 6 good things they did.

Remember Lamberts really poor over hit pass down our right wing in the first half? Awful, perhaps he had only an ok game too?

Fox played ok yesterday, but still worries me with his positioning and how players go past him with ease. But no way was he at fault for what ever you call that crap, Davis took it so it's his fault.

Hang on he didn't take the corner. Davis was at fault for his **** corner as well. Don't get me wrong Fox isn't our best player but he did a good job yesterday. Yet again Fox is being made a scapegoat.

I guess the most disappointed person yesterday was Luke Shaw because he wasn't able to play a part in it.

Agree, it was Davis fault if we're naming and shaming.

That was an incredibly embarrassing moment for a professional footballer. He tried to dummy it, lost control, air kicked and then stood on it to keep it in play and slipped up.
He did well against a city side who tried to overload the flanks. Got caught ball chasing a couple of times, but we won.
Lambert MOTM for me. Great performance and just a shame goal 100 did not cap it.

Not saying fox was terrible but I'm sorry, even after the corner which wasn't his fault, he first of all fell over and then ran all the way back just to mark a guy who was already marked and leave the guy on the overlap completely free who (zabaleta I think) who had acres and time to slide the ball in to dzeko... It wasn't a drastic drastic error but firstly Luke would have done better with it and also, had it been A 0-1 loss, I bet most people would agree with me... Granted the whole team played well, but I thi k this showed that fox isn't cut out for the defensive side of his position....

Personally I don't think I am scapegoating as well... We won didnt we?? I was just stating that fox could and should have done a lot more about their goal.. Ok it wasn't entirely his fault but he has to accept a big chunk of the blame for leaving zabaleta unmarked... Also you can check through my posts I have never to my knowledge slated a player before but I thought it needed mentioning... Fox does t have any positional awareness, but he is good at tackling and crossing, but I don't think that's enough in the Bpl
