Distraught. Depressed. Want to cry. Feel really let down by Stoke. Angry with Kenwyne Jones.

Jones had no support for the whole match and did a really good job of earning free kicks, your midfield let you down much more.

I know exactly how you feel mate, as do thousands of other Stokies im sure. I honestly think the occasion got the better of the lads, we couldnt seem to string 2 passes together. Matty didnt seem anywhere near match fit, Delap was absolute gash, Huth was just being Huth, i thought even Shawcross looked shaky at times. Jones proper did my tree in, he called for anything and everything and just seemed like he couldnt be arsed to run. Our bench was really poor aswell. I appreciate TP wanted to keep it similar to hows its been during the cup run and the squad is plagued with injuries but **** me did i panic when i saw our subs. Carew, well what a waste of money, he was on for what 15 minutes and just looked clueless. On a positive note though i thought Pennant put in a shift, the lad ran his legs off, even if he was out of position, and thanks to the heroics of Tommy we managed to get away with only conceeding the 1. If things stay the same next season, well itl be a very quick tour of europe. Not a great day at the office, and im honestly gutted for all the fans who travelled down to wembley, i saw a few coaches on my way to work, looked like a long journey back.
Hating the prospect of playing Man City midweek, im expecting there fans to proper rub it in.

City til i die.....but sort em out TP

At least Walters ran around and actually tried, plus he tried to link up with Jones it's just that Jones couldn't be bothered the lazy arsed tosser. As long as he gets his 40 or 50k a week whatever it is, he doesn't give a toss.

Not surprised to hear that Andy Wilkinson was crying all the way home. Shows how much he loves the club.

    Well put Dame......

It was just too big an occasion for most of the team so well done ManC for some great football.
Matty should not have played...you could see from the off he was struggling whilst Pennant had a pretty good one.

I'm not going to knock any player though....because we did our best on the day and am still proud as punch we got there.

It was heartbreaking that we had an off-day for the final, although Man City were very good. We'll be fine next season though. Losing one game doesn't suddenly make us a bad team, no matter how big the game was.

True peadar but it did show how short we are in numbers and quality especially in midfield. I thoroughly believe if Pulis invests in a few quality central midfielders and backup wingers, then we can have an even better season next season and even have a good run in the Europa League. Plus we're starting our season in July remember so we'll have to start quick on the transfer front and we're going to need a big squad.

KJ's miss just summed up his day, i.e. it was a lazy finish. Walters ran himself ragged but Jones did nothing to help him. It will be a long time before I can forgive Kenwyne for his attitude that he showed on Saturday and the miss as well.

I don't think Kenwyne did too badly. They did some analysis on it, and he was always very far away from support. There wasn't much he could have done about the finish. It was a very good save from Hart, and trying to knock it between his legs was the best option for Kenwyne at the time.

Attitude wtf? Your team was too scared to support him for the whole match but despite this he manages to beat 2 CB's on his own only for an incredible save to stop his shot and you call him lazy? He is a striker, he is supposed to stay up front, if he dropped back then what would be the point of him being in the team?

I was at the game robin and I know what I saw. My father who has watched Football for over 45 years agreed with me, and knows more about football than anyone I know, so I trust his judgement wholeheartedly. It was Walters running himself ragged and Jones just walking around not closing anybody down. That is NOT the Stoke way. EVERYBODY has to work their hardest ALL THE TIME, it doesn't matter who they are or what position they're playing in. It wouldn't hurt him to close down a defender now and then. The number of times I saw Walters pick the ball up and Jones couldn't be arsed to make a run for him therefore making Walters try and go on his own, which doesn't always suit him, plus Pennant got into position to cross a number of times only for Jones to be idly walking to the box with Walters busting a gut to get to the box. You may not agree with me Robin but I was there, I know what I saw, there are certain things you can only really see if you're actually at the match, i've seen it a lot of times this season from Jones, and it drives me mad!!!!!!!!!

Fair enough, obviously you know miles more about him than I do. I just disagree that strikers should have to play like defenders when they are in the team to score goals. Sorry about your loss by the way.
