Southampton = red and white stripes but when we counter attack the mass of red shirts bombing forward looks great, previously likened to the red arrows.

Is it commercially better to have red shirts or should we keep with tradition?

Whatever, we must surely do away with the white away shirt

I didn't like the red shirts to start with but I prefer them now. How about you

I've always liked them...looks a more serious kit than bold stripes.

Bring back equal red and white stripes as our Champions League kit. Until then, the pinstripes seem to be working OK. I agree with dumping the white kit though. And our "Brazil" away kit has to stay for all time.

Bring back the stripes there part of our identity so much of football is about tradition why do we have to muck around with that?

Stripes or sash for me. Six months into the season and still have no affection for this kit, just screams out Liverpool to me everytime I see it.

I may sound like a pathetic child cawing for it's dummy but ...

    I WANT MY STRIPES BACK!

The white kit is the nicer design but we've only worn it in two of our worst performances this season. If we don't go back to stripes, I'd like to see different coloured shorts/socks and a new design for our much-loved yellow/blue kit.

I like this kit, but we should go back to a striped-number next year.

Looking at the 4 seasons so far since the takeover we have had:

    2009/10 - STRIPES
    2010/11 - ALTERNATIVE
    2011/12 - STRIPES
    2012/13 - ALTERNATIVE

So, will it continue? I reckon so. Back to stripes next year then another alternative. Keeps things fresh and gets fans to invest in new kits.

If it is stripes every year, naturally more retain the previous kits.

Oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh over 50% wanting the stripes back so far.

I really can see why, it is our tradition and you can still vary the design of the stripe.

We certainly suit red though, the speed we have in the team it's like watching 11 Ferraris.

Also I guess the 2 teams that bore me ****less the most in the league are stoke and Sunderland

My question I suppose is does it make a difference to the image of Southampton football club, whatever the supporter thinks, thinks is there a commercial reason for one or the other?

I'll pass on voting as I don't want stripes or to keep the red kit. For me stripes is far to common and I would like Saints to stand out from the crowd. So for me have the sash back but maybe in a more modern design?, that way we keep our tradition and we are different from the other 50 odd teams with red and white stripes.

Yeah, I'd go along with that. I actually liked the narrow stripes from our last European trip, even though it was just a weekend stopover. :)

The red and the white pinstripe kits will inevitably be changed anyway, within a few seasons, but I completely agree, we should keep the Brazil kit. Even the commentators have mentioned the Brazil connection on occasion. It's fun and it looks good.

You know, I don't really care. Unless a kit is really awful I'm not going to get excited about it.

**** no bring back stripes and black shorts! Also think we should have black socks like the Pony era when le tiss was banging in all those screamers. Then we could keep the Brazil kit as is, maybe add green trim to the shirt? Would be excellent.
