I'd welcome any opinions

I've just re-vamped my blog and would welcome any (well almost any!) opinions as to the new layout.

My honest opinion, difficult to read white print on a dark background but this might just be me.

 

The white text on black background took a little getting used to, but I think I like it.

 

That was a concern, and why I asked. None of us are getting any younger are we.... cheers mate

 

Why not white on a blue background...it could be deemed a suitable combination

 

Indeed it would Beth, unfortunately you don't get that level of control over these free blog sites. There are aspects of this theme that I like, but if it is too hard to read that must outweigh everything else.

Very smart, you may be getting an age related response Roller, but white rather than grey on black and a slightly bigger font would help us wrinklies.....

 

Anyone complaining about the background should try a 'reader' add on.
I couldn't do without it now.

 

I think the important message here Roller is there is nothing wrong with the content...

 

Yes mate the white on black is tough on the mince pies.

Echo comments re text. Just an idea but if you had a backdrop picture that covered the page would look first class

Thanks for all of your comments. I've had another go at re-vamping my site. I don't think it looks as smart but is easier on our old eyes. So if I could beg your indulgence again ........

That said, I don't feel particularly inspired at the moment and am seriously fearing have to try to understand the Faurlingate affair for a farewell to Ale this summer. Can't we just keep him? He's ever so well behaved....

Really really like it, looks very distinguished...and easier on the eyes.
No this is really picky but the left and right margins, the text is in brown...to complete the theme, how about a blue for them

Just re-read "Graveyard of dreams and dashed hoops", seemed appropriate today....lovely piece of writing

Thanks Beth. Your suggest is not picky (or at least no pickier than I would be) and most appreciated. Thai Canary has very kindly offered to look and see what may be possible, I almost feel like part of the gang again.....

Coincidentally I thought about that piece yesterday, I think I've been trying to live up to that one all season. I can still feel that despondency, I guess we've all been carrying that all season. The completion is gratefully received, especially as I know that you are an accomplished writer yourself.
