Anyone else still think HE is the problem?

He's not the problem, the POSITION he has been placed all season is the problem.

When he's on the wing he's incredibly dangerous. Surely MON can see that he should be played here from now on.

Totally gutted not to get anything from today.

He was a menace on both wings. Nobody dared tackle him because when they did they got carded or gave away a free kick. Hopefully we will see more of the formation towards the last 20 mins of the game

The problem is when he doesn't get support up to him quickly.
    Rose was doing it well.
Not just to be available for a pass, but to drag defenders away from Sess.
Far to often he is isolated and has 2 or 3 defenders baring down on him.
Sometimes he skins them other times there are just to many legs in the way.
Bet you MON is fuming as most of the tackles bringing him down went unpunished.

Apparently he made 22 passes today with 100% accuracy.

Sess was a class act again today. Get him on the left with Rose over lapping and he will really shine.

To be honest Sess and Larsson have come in for some stick this season but both of them have been played out of position. Stick Sess on the left and Larsson on the right, drop Johnson and McClean and we are a much better side.

    Sorry Vegas but Larsson really?
He has lost his golden delivery touch and he is slower than a very slow thing.
He was again letting Arsenal players run off him and then stood and watched.

Playing out of position though, on the right he looks a different player. He is not that slow either, he just looks it in the middle because he does not know where he is supposed to be running.

Sess. Didn't know he was on the pitch first half. When we didn't have the ball he was on the right wing. when Gardener had the ball he was no where to be seen. Thought he was sure to come off. second half, got to say, a complete different player. Skinned his man time and again and looked brilliant. Yes positioning is the answer. Over to you MON.

Sess is simply the best player we have, and by some distance.

It does baffle me when people suggest getting rid of him would somehow benefit us, as well as his skill and touch, the lad grafts his bollocks off.

    Does AJ? Does he ****.

TVI, you are allowed to say AJ is f*ckin crap. Man City mugged us with the price. Worth 2 curly wurlies and a tin of peas imo.

AJ is worse than Sess at the moment thats not something I would dispute. Sess is a waste of a player on the park behind the striker so the wing is the only option. Looks dangerous on the wing and IF MON will continue to play Sess on the wing I'd be happier.

i completely agree with this. playing wide right to middle is Completely different. unfortunately MON is trying for interchanging wingers in AJand MC but they are a pair of ****s right now (hoping in vain for better). Larsson displays energy but his game is suffering, esp his dead balls. AJ and Gardner looked like they'd met each other for the first time today the way they linked up. christ.

we will rue not getting the c.midfielder we need.

Totally agree with you too mate, we needed another CM as Catts will only play 1/2 the games at best. Larsson is our best RW.

unfortunately pal, we won't get there this year. **** it, no point bleeding about something that can't be corrected til May at the earliest (formally).

Rattus Norvegicus VI has provided me with a jolly good interlude though

For the first 55 mins Sessegnon was totally abysmal imo. A worse example of a lazy, uninterested waste of space I have rarely seen.

For the last 35 mins he was completely unplayable and the best player on the park by a country mile, full of skill, trickery, pace and attacking intent.

How we stop the former and encourage the latter will be the key to our future fortunes imo.

Again I've got to agree with Cest (twice in a week FFS), for me anyway Sess while looking good with his tricks and running does nothing else. No final ball no incisive pass to start an attack off and woeful cows arse with a blunderbus at 5 inches shooting, if he is as some say too good for the team then we either replace the team or we replace Sess my money is on the latter. Sess in just about any other team will look average lads.

I'm agreeing with Cest' here too! Sess was bloody woeful in the first half. He did well on the left with Rose helping him. However and this is what those that love sess' miss, for all his trickery and how easily he can beat a man he just has no end product what so ever. Even MON said this in his post match interview on Bbc Newcastle.

If he was so good, why has there been no bids in for him in the 2 years he has been here? We should be beating suitors off wioth ****ty sticks shouldnt we? Even when he was reportedly unsettled in the summer no club made an approach.

Like I said, for and hour he was an embarassing waste of space and for 30 mins unplayable. Its that inconsistent nature and severe lack of end product that stop him being a really good player and leave him more often than not just a passenger.

Mushy youre too blinkered with Sess and just see the 20 or 30 mins of trickery and little flicks. The reality is he ISNT our best player at all - Mignolet or Fletcher are both far more important and better players. Answer me this. Could we survive with out Mig in goal or Fletcher up front? The answer is not for a second. Could we survive without Sess in the team? The answer (imo) is not only survive but actually prosper as I'd play Graham there and have 2 proper strikers.

Oh, and as for working his bollocks off? Were you at the game Saturday kidda? If he had had pockets in his shorts he'd have had his hands in them for the first 60 mins and been kicking the turf. A more uninterested show by a Sunderland player I have rarely seen in years mate and although for the final 30 mins he was sublime, its no use to a team like ours where everyone needs to contribute.

I'll agree about Johnson though and a severe kick up the arse wouldnt go amiss but on his plus side, he has scored 4 or 5 goals from the wing this season. How many has Sess got as a 2nd striker?
