Good save by Lloris. Suicidal defending by Assou-Ekotto.

I thought before the match that if Newcastle were to lose then they'd go on a downward spiral and that remains to be seen. When you're at the bottom and you lose after a couple of wins then the bad luck clicks in.

That was a bloody good performance which should have been 2-0,Lloris had the ball covered. Ade's first touch and sometimes Lennon's let them down a bit but it was all Spurs in the second half. Deserved more goals but we are third. Come on you lovely Spurs. I'm banking our unbeaten run to continue.

Good Win against what looks like a totally different Newcastle side.

But at the same time it's extremely concerning how much we're relying on bale. We havent looked like breaking teams down in recent games and it's all been down to Bale's magic.

  9. Absolutely right - Bale will rightly get the headlines, but Lennon had a great game again.
    Daws was excellent as well.
And for pure hard work and effort I take my hat off to Dempsey.
Parkers distribution was dreadful and times and Dembeles touch appears to have deserted him, but a win is a win and 3 points against a good Newcastle is a good result. Especially when they created the square root of ****-all in the 2nd half.

    COYS!!!

Excellent win. The Geordies are a different team now (wonder if that's what Wenger was on about?) and they gave us a real game.
The Gouffran injury made a big difference and I think that they can feel a bit disappointed to leave potless.

Bale was outstanding, Lennon was superb, Parker seemed back to his old self, Dawson put in a good shift, Lloris was only beaten by a fat deflection and Dempsey worked his arse off.
Naughton had a mixed game, as did Walker, Caulker was decent but had a couple of moments where he switched off badly and Dembele had a poor first half, but improved drastically once Gouffran went off.
Not sure why Holtby was removed, but it seemed to work. Adebayor didn't do too much, but his presence and movement was a big distraction for their defence, especially Coloccini.

Pardew needs some new dentures, but he can be very happy with his new look team. They play a lot like we do away from home, with constant closing down, hard work and a fair amount of guile and craft.
    Impressive stuff.

Simply awesome performance from Bale. Could have had 4 or 5. Unbelievable. Papers over the cracks a bit today but we're never going to play well with Dempsey up top really. Hopefully Dembele will be ok as well, looked a nasty challenge at the time but he came back on and was able to walk off so hopefully he'll be ok. He did better today IMO.

    Fantastic result - amazing Bale

i was proved to be on the pessimistic side

what i was of course RIGHT about was the world class Lloris

    Who's naive now - not me :smiley-finger007::emoticon-0109-kiss:<whistle>

Oh and here's a fascinating table about GOALKEEPING

    http://www.goal.com/en/news/1717/editorial/2013/02/09/3737979/-?

See who hasn't got one goal against him as keeper error????

You know that bloke who was dodgy on crosses, too small, needed time to adapt, all the rest of the nonsense

    I LOVE IT !!!!!!

He's the best keeper in the Prem, simple as.

I'm confused. Is Bale **** and overrated or is he our only good player and carrying the team? Some people seem to think both simultaneously, somehow.

Some bit of totty called Ann says she's fed up with hearing about him and if he'd be less selfish other midfielders could score more goals. Christ what twaddle. They're also calling it a slight deflection, again what twaddle.
