Why don't we discuss George Boyd. I can see him coming into the building. Perhaps we are eyeing him up. Maybe it's just me, seeing things through Amber Glasses.
I see your point, but I don't think anything's changed, they'd already signed him in the window, it was only the work permit that was confirmed yesterday.
Not sure but think he scored against us at Nene Park when he played for the late Rushden and Diamonds
Here's a useless fact for you....when we played them at Nene Park in 2001, they had Duane Derby playing up front for them and he was replaced on 76 minutes, by a Mr Caleb Folan.
Hi guys, Several of us have given our thoughts on this over on the Norwich board, and I'd say most of us think he could do a job for you. I think the only issue you could have with him (if he was to come) is confidence. When he's on form, he's very, very good, and the second-half of our promotion season he scored some very vital goals for us, and I don't think it would be an exaggeration to say his goals fired us to where we are now. We play with a single striker at the moment, which Jackson really isn't cut out for, partly due to our insistence on playing a long ball to him when he's 5 ft nothing (slight exaggeration). As I said on our board, he's an instinctive finisher, with pace to burn. On the Kamara deal, he's a bit of an unknown to us at the moment, so we're not quite sure where he's fitting into our squad. From what we've read/been told he can operate as a centre-forward, but has recently been played out wide quite a lot. We've currently got very little cover on the left wing, so we're not sure if that's the position he's been brought in to compete for. On the striker front, whilst we signed Becchio in January, Steve Morison went the other way, and we've let the Spurs youngster Harry Kane return to his parent club, so if you count Kamara as a striker, we've still got the same number, and if you don't, then we're a striker short. I don't know how long the emergency window is, but with Kamara not yet fit (MLS is in close season), and of unproven ability up front, I don't think we'll be too keen to let Jackson go just yet though. If he does join you, I really think he'd be a decent signing. I can't think of many other out of favour strikers in the Premier League prepared to play in the Championship, with the possible exception of the aforementioned Kane.
I was thinking this, maybe Marc Antoine Fortune from WBA but with the Odemwingie situation he may no longer be available
And here's another useless fact for you. Caleb Folan is now playing in the Malaysian league, and George Boateng is his club captain.
