Seems like a great lad and really appreciates the fans' support:

Yoan Gouffran is determined to repay Newcastle's fans for their warm welcome of the club's new French signings by getting results on the pitch.

Some fans showed their support for the new arrivals by adopting French-themed fancy dress for Newcastle's 3-2 home win over Chelsea last week.

Asked if he was aware of the gesture, Gouffran told Sky Sports: "All of the French players, we saw that in the stadium. We saw people with moustaches, berets, with garlic and obviously the French flag flying high.

"Obviously against Chelsea it was an absolutely superb atmosphere.

"We were really happy to be able to see that. The fans have given us a fantastic welcome and we're trying to go out on the pitch, do our best and win games to repay that thanks."

Giving this one a miss Obi.

The very early departures and the late arrivals home are on the back burner now.

The Brighton game was a game too far. 1:00am departure, terrible journey down and a terrible game to watch.

I'm going to be more selective now, no more of the leaving home before the milkman even gets up and no more getting home when he's just starting his rounds. My next away game will be Wigan which isn't such a bad journey and the times are agreeable.

Not quite as much one of Obi's team as Oba is though.

He has made a good start. The thing which has surprised me is his workrate, physicality and willingness to get stuck in. That will stand him in good stead and was not really what I was expecting.

Just wanted to post a message seriously hoping that Gouff is not badly injured. He has been absolutely mint since he came to the club and although Sissoko was getting all the praise and attention, this kids contribution has been immense. We looked weak as soon as he left the game today.
Worrying that there are shades of the HBA against City scenario with Gouff, seriously praying it's not a break. How tragic would it be for him if he's badly injured, we will miss him if he is out long term.
Sending much love to The Gouff. Xxxxxxxx

^^^^ This - although I'm sure he'd prefer the kisses from GLITF!

Hopefully it's nothing too serious (reported as precautionary X rays); at least he's got a couple of weeks to recover as we couldn't play him in the Metalist games anyway.

Not sure if the ref was missing things or just trying to let the game flow ? However, Cabayes tackle could easily have gotten him a red, it was really a reckless challenge.

To be honest if there is an advantage fair play but 3 times he played us on when we had no advantage whatsoever and Walker should have been sent off for a studs high shin tackle that has broken Gouffrans leg and guess what no free kick never mind a card.

Same occured with Ben Arfa and to be honest I'm geting sick of our players getting no protection. In the Villa game for example they should have had several reds.
