Welcome, welcome all you Danish Swans fans [When is the next series of The Bridge coming to UK? Series one was the the TV highlight of the year in the UK for me. Great soundtrack too!] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0zvlxcmg7A
Great to see input from our Danish friends! Velkommen to our forum. Can I ask, are the Swans really getting much of a following over there?? Mit lufpudefartoj er fyldt med al.
The danish media is following Swans as intensely as they follow the national league (or maybe even more). There seem to be a Swans story for every 'Superliga' story. It seems that Swans has gained more popularity here than the National Team (especially since yesterday when they lost 3-0 to Macedonia. Lol). I guess we need a success story to identify with in these bad football times.
Thank you ) And to swimaway - yes they do get a lot of coverage. Since every little thing Michael Laudrup does, always has and always will get a lot of coverage here, because of the fact that he is the greatest footballer we ever had, and because he is a great guy as well. I think we have all been waiting for him to go to the next level, and there has been many signs on that, if you count out the strange move to Moscow. In my opinion, he has just been unlucky with the circumstances in Getafe and Mallorca, even though in my opinion, he also did well there...... And with the move to Swansea, and the way you have played and still do, I think the match is perfect. And with the way he makes his choices, I dont see him in a "bigger" club, but would bet my money that he stays there for a while. Because of ML, all games are in danish television, and personally, I have watched 90% of them. Its always nice when the small club with a low budget, goes out and plays some great football and show the big money clubs how things should be done. I must say, that I have enjoyed reading the posts on this forum since there was talk about ML signing, and still do. Great work - lets hope it continues _o_
It really is great to have so many Danish friends visit. Thanks for your input guys. I've spent some time in Denmark and have to say it's a great place.
Looks like we are really getting our backroom staff sorted, this points to Laudrup wanting everything correct, and is not doing things in half measures, very pleasing to hear of this appointment, and hope it works out as it should do, you get the impression that we are here to stay! Good news indeed Norway, though I did pick this up on a tweet............
Agreed. They all seem level headed intelligent contributors too. This (coaching) move is exactly what we needed, if we can persuade Laudrup to sign on for the extra year we could sign 4/5 more top players this summer and stick them on 3 year contracts....and become truly established in the Prem, who knows where we'll end up...I haven't seen anyone apart from Everton outplay us.
Once again he looks a solid footballing appointment. Thoughts are rightly pointing to saturday though and the home game v QPR. I hope there's a respect there from minute one. But I hope we show that ruthless edge and show no mercy if we are able to get an early goal. At the Liberty in the home victory against Stoke, we kept the intensity and worked for more goals
Very pleased to see the announcement but football is a fickle game and as Ivor said if ML leaves then we can expect his backroom team to go with him. Hopefully that wont be for 2-3 seasons
The Bridge had a poor ending though: was copied from some Hollywood-thriller. Season 2 is broadcasted in dk this fall...
Just be glad he will not be taking any penalties!!!! Fair play, classy gesture , made easier it was in a friendly though. If that happened at Wembley I'd go spare!
That's great news. Wieghorst has spend the last 6-7 years working with passing football as manager/trainer with great succes. Very good signing from Swansea. I'm impressed.
