According to the player info on NUFC.COM Harper's contract is up in June. Has there been any talk of what he's doing? Is he likely to get another contract? If not, will he stay on as part of the coaching staff? I know he's not likely to get many more games, but I'm hoping he sticks around at the club as he'll be a great influence on the youngsters. Model pro and somebody the lads will all look up to and respect. So would be a real shame to see him move on. Apologies if this is old news to most, but we don't get to see all the Toon news daarn Sarf and I've not previously spotted anything about Harper's contract expiring. Cheers.
As you say, he's been a model pro and you'd think the club would keep him on in some capacity. His contract expires in June so we should be hearing something reasonably soon.
He came into the shop where I work the other day. He was with his family so didn't want to disturb him otherwise I could have got the contract info from him!
The last I saw him, was on TV as a media pundit on the game against Chelsea. Was an Asia broadcast by the way... Might have been a one-off, but still surprised to see him there.
I've not heard anything but he is a top bloke and bleeds black and white so I would hope we would offer him a job on thed coaching side. I've always loved Harps and have never, and will never say a bad word against him.
