Just noticed the mention on the OS that Aaron Lennon played his 300th game for the club last weekend. Apologies if already covered...... That's some achievement - and only 18 short of the great Dave MacKay!! I say 'Congratulations' to our little flying winger - a player who is playing better now after 300 games than he has ever done.
Often an unsung hero for us, had his ups and downs in his Spurs career but after Bale he has been our best player imo this season. Here's to another 300 more.
Yeah well done to the lad and thanks for the loyalty too. Not many players stick around for long these days but he's shown great commitment. Even when at times it looked like his place was under threat (Bentley's & Gio's arrivals) he never once said how he was looking to quit, instead he battled and has over come anyone that's challenged him for a role in the side. Has had his dips in form but overall, been a key player for us over the years and I'm delighted to have him. Here's to another 300 Azza Blud Brap Brap Brap *gun fingers salute*.
It's bizarre that Lennon is only the 41st player in our history to play 300 games. Not bad for someone that can't cross...according to fans of other clubs who haven't watched him play since about 2005, judging by their opinions.
Lennon is one of my favourite players in the squad. Some fans forget that before Bale was causing problems for fullbacks and defenders, Aaron was the dangerman who was often doubled up on by opposing defences. He's on his way back to his best form after his injury, and now sits at the top of our assists chart for this season. Legend.
Definitely had his ups & downs since he's been with us. However, when he's on song, he's almost as unplayable as Bale. Him on one side and Bale on the other must give most Premiership defences nightmares.
Robbie Keane's the next player up on the list with 306, apparently. Should be able to overtake that this season.
Hate seeing him being starved of possession by Glen Johnson when playing for England. Johnson seems to have Some kind of vendetta against him.
Listening to Talkshite and they seem to think Tom Ince and Zaha are ahead of Azza in the pecking order after last night!
Don't give **** about Talkshite, but frankly, anything that reduces his chances of getting injured when not playing for Spurs is fine with me!!
This. I don't mind some players going off to play for their countries where they might gain experience and knowledge but i'd just prefer it if none played for england. The only thing they are likely to gain from it are bad habits.
