McLean getting some unnecessary abuse from someone on Twitter. Stood his ground well IMO. Arctic Monkey jumped to his defence too might I add. J @JamesMcc1994 @A9Mac things I could call you something but I won't because I'm not a racist #****Footballer Aaron McLean @A9Mac @JamesMcc1994: "@A9Mac things I could call you something but I won't because I'm not a racist #****Footballer" Poor comeback!!! Aaron McLean @A9Mac @JamesMcc1994 bet u wish u were as bad as me lad, u could afford a decent tracky!!! #ChinsUp J @JamesMcc1994 @A9Mac well you're supposed to be the professional setting the example yet all you do is name call, so go **** your mum you incest bastard Ant Northgraves @606ArcticMonkey @JamesMcc1994 is there any need for that? He's still a Hull City player and he's far from ****. Get a job and girlfriend #singlewanker J @JamesMcc1994 @606ArcticMonkey clear off my mentions yeah Ant Northgraves @606ArcticMonkey Why? Can't take it when you're not such a big man anymore? #fattwat J @JamesMcc1994 nice going keyboard warrior Ant Northgraves @606ArcticMonkey nice going hypocrite... Giving it large to McLean in the same fashion. #GetAGrip Ant Northgraves @606ArcticMonkey @A9Mac think that kid has jealousy problems mate. Real City fans respect you and most of us want you recalled. #topguy First of all, that JamesMcc1994 is from Hull and I think anyone who resorts to that sort of abuse towards one of our players (including calling him incest and border-lining racism) should take a long look at themselves. I applaud Arctic Monkey for that, but in all honesty, you shouldn't really get involved (Hence why I didn't) just in case it gets serious. Is it just me or does McLean seem to be the magnet for arguments on Twitter?
All the footballers seem to argue on twitter... Gary Madine at sheffield wednesday is worse.. can't say im surprised cos he is a you know what...
He's a prat. I only did what I thought was right. Nobody deserved to be subject of racist abuse. Especially not someone who has worked so hard for the Club.
That's really ****ing pathetic. I don't understand why people get satisfaction from having a go at celebrities on twitter. I mean if they're actually a **** or they're perceived to have done something wrong then fair enough but a sportsman who you know **** all about, just why?
It really is pathetic and disgusting but its always going to happen Im afraid. We live in a world full of ****s, simple as, and for that reason I literally have no concept of why anyone even mildly famous would be on Twitter.
did one do it for real, or are you on about the chubby American lass with the decent rack that faked it?
Seriously though, what good can possibly come of it? For every positive interaction one has with a fan there must be 25 negative ones and that's across the board no matter who the person in the public eye. Yes of course in an ideal world it would be brilliant as a tool to engage with your heroes and get to read their views and get an insight into their lives in a way an interview never could, but we dont live in an ideal world.
As a regular tweeter, I'd say you've got it completely the wrong way round, Aaron will get at least 25 positive tweets for every negative one he gets. That's exactly why he carries on tweeting.
Really? I havent counted or anything to be fair and it was total guess work. Alright then, how about another way of looking at it - a celebrity is far more likely to get wider media coverage for a negative interaction with a follower than a positive one. Aaron and his Ipswich colleague have both suffered from it in the last few weeks.
Has Aaron McLean eaten a tampon? Or did a fat lass with a big rack tweet Michael Chopra's wad? Is there a bag of money somewhere? Can someone please clarify? Thanks.
It's certainly true that complimentary tweets are not newsworthy, only Twitter battles will ever make the news, so media coverage of celebrity tweeting is generally negative. This situation is not helped, by the fact that the heaviest tweeters are often 18 year old ******s, who find it entertaining to abuse celebrities. There really are some metally deficient clowns out there.
Call me old fashioned but I don't for the life of me understand why professional footballers feel the need to go public on twitter and get verbally abused by adolescent cyber junkies
I think it comes down purely to personality. Some people like to live their lives out in the open, and some people are more reclusive. I think Twitter allows you to be extrovert 24 hours a day, if you want to be.
